TRAINING SESSION BY A PRACTICING PSYCHOLOGIST “THE ROAD IS MADE BY THE ONE WHO WALKS: HOW TO START MOVING WHEN YOU ARE SCARED”

The whole life path consists of decisions and their consequences. A person finds himself or herself in a situation of choice many times during a day, month, year, or lifetime. It is impossible to predict the consequences of a decision with complete certainty in advance, so there is no guarantee of its correctness. But in any case, you have to make decisions based on your own experience and knowledge or on the advice of other people.

On April 25, 2025, at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Day of Psychologist, Olha Vavulova, Master of Psychology, practicing psychologist, held a training session for first-year (bachelor) students on the topic “The road is made by the one who walks: how to start moving when you are scared”.

The event was organized by the KNUTD Psychological Support Center and the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design. Its goal is to harmonize the inner world of the participants in the educational process, develop skills of self-awareness, self-reflection and self-analysis, and the ability to cope with and recognize fears that arise in the process of change.

Olha Vavulova noted that uncertainty is a part of human life, whether in peace or in war. It should not be fought against, but accepted as a natural part of existence. By nature, people tend to counteract uncertainty by surrounding themselves with comfort and security. But even in safety, no one can say for sure what will happen in the future. It is absolutely normal for a person to not know something. But it is the decisions made in the face of uncertainty that help us live.

During the training, the students had the opportunity to get to know themselves better, received practical tools to combat the fear of uncertainty, changed their attitude towards it, and developed skills to maintain their own psychological balance.

Thanks to the practical format of the lesson, the students not only gained valuable knowledge but were able to apply it immediately, making the training as effective as possible.

We sincerely thank Olha Vavulova for her cooperation, effective tools for our own psycho-emotional support and effective future professional activities!

Everything will be Ukraine!
