PUBLIC LECTURES BY PRACTICING PROFESSIONALS FOR STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIES AND RESOURCE SAVING

Public lectures by practicing professionals are an effective tool for providing practice-oriented training for our students and supporting the professional development of the Department’s teachers. From November 13 to 20, 2024, students enrolled in the master's educational program “Chemical Technologies of Polymer and Composite Materials” attended a series of lectures delivered by a practicing specialist, PhD Konstantin KALAFAT, Head of the Kovlar Group Company. The course, part of the discipline “Innovative Technologies of Polymer Materials”, addressed key topics such as material selection, technology development, and design approaches for the fire protection of building structures.

On April 29, 2025, a public lecture was delivered by Hanna YAKIMENKO, PhD, an environmental protection expert from NEK Ukrenergo, on the topic “Environmental Protection Activity Management Systems: The Case of NEK Ukrenergo”. The lecture was attended by bachelor students enrolled in the educational programs “Environmental Engineering” and “Chemical Technologies and Engineering”. In an engaging and accessible manner, the lecturer used the example of NEK Ukrenergo to introduce students and faculty to key principles of environmental protection, including biodiversity conservation programs implemented by the company.

On May 1, 2025, a public lecture was held by Andriy BOICHENKO, Director of the company “Agrotechshkira” and a graduate of our University, for students of the bachelor’s educational program “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” as part of the course “Chemistry and Technology of Leather and Fur”. The students and faculty were introduced to a new range of products and technologies in leather production, with a focus on the environmental aspects of implementing new technologies – particularly regarding the processing of waste from various sources.
We are grateful for the engaging and informative lectures and look forward to continued collaboration!
