On May 2, 2025, Vitaliy Kino, a senior lecturer at the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of KNUTD, took part in the jury of the bright festival “Theatre Sails”, which took place in the village of Ivankovychi in Kyiv region.
Schoolchildren and young actors from art schools in Hlevakha, Kaharlyk, Ivankovychi and other towns in Kyiv region presented inspirational mini-performances on the stage of the local community centre. The festival participants impressed the jury with their level of preparation, original interpretations of the works and sincerity of performance.
Among the productions presented were classical and contemporary texts, including works by Charles Dickens and Ostap Vyshnia, as well as plays by contemporary Ukrainian playwrights and even those based on folk sayings and clean-ups. According to Vitaliy, he was particularly impressed by a one-woman show performed by a 10-year-old actress who skilfully held the audience’s attention throughout the performance. V. Kino told the festival participants about the activities of the young Department of Performing Arts and Culture of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and the educational and professional programmes implemented. The creative meeting became a career guidance platform for the festival participants, who received comprehensive information about the most prestigious multi-disciplinary higher education institution in Kyiv.
The event was organised by Anna Suprovych, a graduate of V.A. Kino’s workshop, now an actress, film director and principal of the Ivankovychi School of Arts. We are proud of the young talents and teachers of KNUTD who are enthusiastically involved in cultural initiatives, promote the development and popularisation of national art among young people!
