On 7 May 2025, the Faculty of Management and Business Design hosted an open lecture by Professor Alexander Bujčík, Doctor of Economics, Vice President for Science of the European Institute for Innovative Development (Czech Republic), aimed at applicants of all levels of study in such specialties as D2 Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market; D3 Management and D5 Marketing. The key topic of the lecture was the fundamentals and principles of preparing scientific publications, with a special emphasis on standardising the formatting in accordance with the requirements of IMRaD and APA formats.
Scientific and organisational support of the event was provided by: Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Economics, Professor Mariana Shkoda; Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Tarasenko; Doctor of Economics, Professor Andrii Zolkover and PhD, Associate Professor Dmytro Kovalenko (Department of Finance and Business Consulting).
In his report, Professor A. Bujčík made an in-depth analysis of the specifics of formalizing bibliographic sources using the unified standards of IMRaD and APA. The lecturer presented a detailed description of the current aspects of integrating bibliographic references into the structure of scientific papers, revealed the fundamental principles of scientific citation as an element of academic communication, and detailed methodological approaches to writing a scientific article that meets international requirements Particular emphasis was placed on familiarizing students with a range of relevant information resources, including the functionality of the electronic catalogue of the university library system and the potential of the international scient metric platforms Web of Science and Scopus for searching and analyzing scientific information.
The acquired set of knowledge on the basics of information literacy, mastered by the students during the lecture, will be crucial for the formation of sustainable skills and abilities to standardize the design of scientific text in accordance with generally accepted academic norms. This will contribute not only to improving the quality of scientific publications, but also to ensuring strict adherence to the principles of academic integrity at all stages of research activities, which is a key element in the formation of the scientific culture of future specialists.
At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty, Mariana Shkoda, expressed her gratitude to Professor Alexander Bujčík for the informative lecture, relevant recommendations and fruitful cooperation. His role as a stakeholder of the faculty's educational programs and his significant contribution to improving the quality of training was also noted.
