STUDENTS OF KNUTD – PARTICIPANTS OF THE NATIONAL JOB FAIR 2025: CAREER GUIDANCE AND NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design  is actively cultivating a career-oriented environment for its students and graduates. The university team—from the administration to the academic and teaching staff—consistently works to create conditions for a successful start to students’ professional careers.

Faculties, institutes, and departments implement modern educational programs, build partnerships with employers, and organize internships, training sessions, career events, and masterclasses.

A central role in this process is played by the KNUTD Career and Employment Center, a key institutional element of the university’s professional development support system. Working closely with departments, faculties, and structural units, the Center implements a comprehensive set of initiatives aimed at developing individual career trajectories for each student.

The Center combines scientifically grounded methodologies in career guidance and counseling with practical tools to support young people during the transition from education to employment. Through systematic analysis of labor market trends, career diagnostics, training programs, consultations, soft skills development initiatives, and active employer engagement, the Center significantly enhances graduates’ employability, competitiveness, and their smooth adaptation to the modern economic environment.

An important part of this targeted activity is KNUTD students’ participation in job fairs. These fairs serve not only as a practical entry point to the job market but also as a critical component of professional preparation.

For students, participation in such events provides opportunities to explore current job openings, understand employer expectations, evaluate salary levels, and assess their own readiness for professional work.

It also helps them improve communication skills, develop soft skills, practice self-presentation, and gain clearer insight into their career potential and opportunities.

In this context, KNUTD students’ involvement in the 2025 National Job Fair marked a significant milestone in testing their readiness to enter the professional sphere.

Students from various specialties participated, spanning both technical and humanities disciplines, including: D2 Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Stock Market; D5 Marketing; G15 Light Industry Technologies; A5 Vocational Education; C4 Psychology; B2 Design; F3 Computer Science; C2 Political Science; D8 Law; E6 Applied Physics and Nanomaterials; B11 Philology (with specializations); B11.041 Philology – Germanic Languages and Literatures (Translation included), First Language: English; G1 Chemical Technologies and Engineering; G2 Environmental Protection Technologies; G21 Biotechnology and Bioengineering; I8 Pharmacy (with specializations).

The Career and Employment Center was represented by its director, Nataliia Fastovets, PhD in Public Administration.

KNUTD students’ participation in the job fair was complemented by a series of valuable educational and practical activities that expanded their understanding of the current labor market and personal development opportunities.

In particular, students attended an informational seminar held by the Kyiv City Employment Center, where they learned about grant opportunities for starting their own businesses. This session was especially useful for proactive youth considering entrepreneurship as an alternative career path.

It is also worth highlighting the participation in the tactical medicine training, where students learned basic first aid skills for emergency situations, which is especially relevant under martial law conditions.

Within the framework of the “Path to Career” training, participants had the opportunity to analyze their career goals, identify personal strengths, develop a step-by-step plan toward their desired profession, and evaluate the competitiveness of their skills in the job market.

As part of the “Path to Career” training, participants had the opportunity to analyze their own career goals, identify individual strengths, develop an action plan toward their desired profession, and assess the competitiveness of their skills in the labor market.

The special atmosphere of the event was highlighted by the fact that all these activities took place on Vyshyvanka Day — a celebration that unites Ukrainians around national identity, heritage, and cultural uniqueness. On this day, symbols of tradition and aspirations for modern development came together in one space: students, teachers, employers, and institutional representatives wore traditional embroidered shirts (vyshyvankas), showing respect for Ukrainian values and a readiness to shape their future freely, with dignity and professionalism. The combination of professional growth, active civic engagement, and national spirit became a true symbol of this career-oriented event.
