LECTURE-PRESENTATION “3D CHARACTER SCULPTING” BY GUEST LECTURER IHOR AVULA

On May 19, 2025, the Department of Digital Art of the Institute of Culture and Creative Industries held an online lecture-presentation on character sculpting in 3ds Max for students majoring in Digital Art, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Multimedia Design, Environment Design and all digital art lovers. The meeting was organized and moderated by Anastasiia Avula, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Art.

For almost two hours, artist Ihor Avula delivered a lecture-presentation in which he thoroughly explained how to create a character using polygonal modeling. He immersed the audience in a creative atmosphere, skillfully blending the technical and methodological features of the software with the fundamentals of fine art.

The atmosphere of the event was warm and welcoming. Throughout the lecture-presentation, attendees were encouraged to ask questions – both about specific tools within the software and broader concepts. It was an incredibly valuable experience to observe a professional at work. Many of the tools and construction principles demonstrated were also applicable to other digital editors. The lecture-presentation was undeniably engaging, thanks in large part to Ihor Avula’s extensive experience in interior design, digital design, and teaching.
