GREEN TRANSITION AND SUSTAINABLE RECONSTRUCTION OF UKRAINE: LECTURE BY FOREIGN PROFESSOR OLEXANDER KASTERIN AND POLITICAL EXPERT IN THE FIELD OF GREEN RESTORATION ANNA ACKERMANN

On May 21, 2025, the Department of Smart Economics of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Modern Technologies of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design organized a problem-oriented lecture by foreign lecturers for all levels higher education students and teachers.

The lecture was attended by more than 55 higher education students of all levels and teachers of the Department of Smart Economics.

Professor Alexander Kasterin, an expert in agricultural and environmental economics with over 25 years of experience in international organizations, academic institutions and consulting, Senior Advisor on Trade and Environment at the International Trade Center (Switzerland, Geneva), many projects manager in the field of sustainable agriculture, market access for small and medium-sized enterprises and climate resilience, particularly in Asia and Africa, introduced the lecture “Trade: Good or Bad for the Environment”, formulating the thesis: “Overproduction = more pollution and GHG emissions (scale effect)”.

Ms. Anna Ackermann, policy expert on green reconstruction of Ukraine at the International Institute for Sustainable Development, analyst on environment and energy, climate change mitigation, renewable energy, energy efficiency of buildings and sustainable reconstruction strategies, highlighted the problems and suggested ways to solve them in her lecture “Sustainable Restoration of Ukraine”.
