As part of the implementation of the career guidance strategy of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, a meeting of representatives of the University with students of the Art Lyceum took place on May 23, 2025. "Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts named after M. I. Chemberzhi " is a leading educational institution in Ukraine specializing in the training of gifted youth in the field of arts.
The Academy's educational concept is based on a unique integrated methodology combining general education and professional artistic training, which allows students not only to master basic school material, but also to systematically develop their creative abilities - in music, choreography, theater and fine arts.
This unique educational model was initiated by Mykhailo Ivanovych CHAMBERZHI (1944–2018) - an outstanding Ukrainian composer, teacher, public figure, Honored Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine, academician, laureate of a number of state awards. It was Mykhailo Ivanovych who founded the Academy of Arts as a new generation author's school, combining high artistic ideals with modern pedagogical technologies.
The pedagogical philosophy of M.I.CHAMBERZHI was that art is not a supplement to education, but is its full-fledged component, capable of forming a personality, national consciousness and civic responsibility from an early age. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Mykhailo Chemberzhi , the Academy gained authority not only in Ukraine, but also abroad, having educated more than one generation of creative youth, who worthily represent our culture on the international arena.
In order to establish career guidance interaction and cultural and educational cooperation, a delegation from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Culture and Creative Industries of the KNUTD visited the lyceum consisting of the following members: Lidia MAKARENKO - Director of the NNIKKI, Vira BURNAZOVA - Head of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture, Diana KARPENKO - Deputy Director of the NNIKKI, Vitaliy KINO - Senior Lecturer of the Department, an outstanding theater and film actor.
The meeting took place with the active participation and support of the director of the lyceum, Oleg Oleksandrovych MARTSYNKIVSKY. – People's Artist of Ukraine, famous singer, composer, public figure, teacher, founder and artistic director of the ensemble " Medobory " . As a teacher, composer and head of the institution, Mr. Oleg consistently implements the idea of the unity of professional art education with national ideals, instilling in students respect for the Ukrainian musical heritage, language and spiritual traditions. Thanks to his initiatives, the Academy of Arts named after M.I. Chemberzhi has become a center of nationally oriented education, where art plays the role of not only an aesthetic, but also a worldview and civic factor. Thanks to his leadership, the lyceum not only preserved the author's idea of \u200b\u200bMykhailo Chemberzhi , but also developed it, adapting it to the modern challenges of the educational space.
During the visit, a meaningful and constructive conversation took place between the administration of the National Institute of Contemporary Art and Design of the Ukrainian State University of Technology and the management of the lyceum regarding the prospects for academic cooperation, the development of partnership projects , creative exchanges, and opportunities for continuous art education. Particular attention was focused on the integration of high school students into the space of higher art education in Ukraine.
The KNUTD team held a presentation of educational programs implemented at the University and, in particular, at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Culture and Creative Industries. Students received thorough information about the features of the educational process, in particular, about the specifics of the admission campaign, requirements for creative competitions, and the algorithm for submitting documents. Representatives of KNUTD outlined in detail the structure and content of educational programs, high-quality material and technical base, and the advantages of studying at KNUTD. Particular attention was paid to the high level of the teaching staff - leading specialists in the fields of art and cultural studies, who combine scientific activity with active creative activity.
The advantages of studying at KNUTD were outlined as a combination of quality education, creative development and real professional practice. The university provides conditions for students to participate in artistic projects , collaborate with creative industries and develop their own creative trajectory, which forms the professional maturity and competitiveness of graduates in the labor market.
Young artists demonstrated sincere interest in the information presented, actively asking questions about the conditions for admission to the KNUTD, the features of the creative competition, the list of educational programs, as well as opportunities for individual creative development and realization of one's own potential during their studies.
The career guidance meeting became a dialogue between two educational institutions united by a common goal - the formation of a new generation of creative youth. Such interaction is an example of a partnership between secondary specialized and higher art education institutions, based on common values: personal development, support for gifted youth, preservation and enhancement of national cultural potential.
KNUTD, as the flagship of higher artistic and creative education, demonstrates openness to cooperation with leading art institutions in Ukraine, consistently implementing the strategy of forming an innovative educational space focused on identifying, supporting, and developing the creative potential of youth.
Cooperation between institutions will be an important step towards the formation of a single artistic and educational space focused on the development of talented youth and the preservation of national cultural traditions in a modern context.
In the future, it is planned to sign a memorandum of cooperation between KNUTD and the Art Lyceum "Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts named after M.I. Chemberzhi " , which will become the basis for the implementation of joint cultural and educational initiatives, exchange of experience, conducting master classes, conferences, creative projects , concerts, workshops and exhibition events.
It is expected that such cooperation will not only improve the quality of professional orientation of future applicants, but will also contribute to the formation of a conscious approach to art education as an important component of the state-building process.
