X INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “DIALOGUE OF CULTURES IN THE EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL SPACE”

On May 09, 2025, the X International Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, which was organized by scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Philology and Translation of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies.

The conference was held on the initiative of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The ceremonial opening of the conference began with the welcome speech of Doctor of technical sciences, Professor, Vice-rector for digital transformation of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design Volodymyr STATSENKO. He congratulated the international community and emphasized the importance of cultural diversity and equal dialogue of cultures for a modern civilized democratic society, scientific work for modern specialists and wished the audience persistence and productive work.

In the welcome speech, Tetiana VLASIUK emphasized that the anniversary conference, which works annually within the celebration of the Day of Europe and the Day of Science in Ukraine, is a reputable professional playground for discussing philological aspects of intercultural dialogue.

The moderators of the conference were Svitlana DVORIANCHYKOVA, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation and Yelizaveta ISAKOVA, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Philology and Translation.

The conference was attended by more than 150 scientists, teachers and applicants of higher education institutions in Ukraine (Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kramatorsk, Kryvyi Rih, Lviv, Odesa, Pereiaslav, Poltava, Ternopil, Kherson, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv), Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ireland, Germany, Poland, the United States of America and Turkey.

Six sections worked within the framework of the conference:

1. Cultural and educational traditions of Ukraine and other countries.

2. Development of modern institutions of higher education and general secondary education of Ukraine and the world.

3. Traditions and prospects of teaching foreign students at the institutions of higher education of Ukraine and the world.

4. Philology through the prism of the dialogue of cultures.

The speakers noted that the dialogue of cultures has become the basis of a new cultural and educational strategy in the conditions of rapid increase of the world interest to Ukraine, and that communication in foreign languages is especially relevant in the aspect of world globalization.

 

The educational and scientific activity of the staff of the Department of Philology and Translation of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is consistent with the European vector of modern Ukrainian education. The lecturers of the Department have implemented a number of international projects with foreign partners. The participants and guests of the conference emphasized fruitful and promising cooperation with scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Philology and Translation of KNUTD, the relevance of the theme and directions of the Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” and high professional level of its organization.

During the work of section meetings, reports of scientific and pedagogical workers, graduate students and applicants were represented.

A number of reports were of great interest to the participants of the conference and aroused a lively discussion. The authors highlighted the most important relevant theoretical and practical aspects of intercultural dialogue, translation and philology, multiculturalism and mastering foreign languages in Ukraine and the world, which will contribute to the globalization of society and Ukraine's entry into the international community:
