At the Department of Graphic Design, Faculty of Design, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, the student research group “Graphic Design in the Visual Culture of the 20th–21st Centuries” is actively operating under the academic supervision of Ruslana Bezuhla, Doctor of of Study of Art, Associate Professor, and Olha Yezhova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor.
The group brings together students of the educational program “Graphic Design” who are eager to develop research competencies, enhance professional skills, and deepen their understanding of contemporary cultural processes.
In March 2025, group meetings focused on preparing for the 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference Current Issues of Contemporary Design, which took place on April 4, 2025. Students discussed their presentation topics, learned how to structure research papers, properly use academic sources, and cite both textual and visual materials.

On April 1, 2025, fourth-year student Oleksandra Tytarenko presented her research titled “Theoretical Aspects of the Social Poster”. Her presentation highlighted the social poster as a powerful tool of visual communication that influences public consciousness and promotes ideas of unity and national values. The study paid special attention to the topic of Ukrainian identity and the historical development of poster art in Ukraine - from the late 19th century to the present day.

In May 2025, the group summarized the scientific results of the academic year. Fourth-year students are preparing to defend their bachelor's theses, which reflect both their research findings and creative achievements.
Scientific activity supports the professional growth of future designers, fosters analytical thinking, and develops the ability to independently explore relevant design topics. As a result of the group’s work, students have published articles in academic journals, presented papers at conferences, and submitted research to student competitions.

The Department of Graphic Design takes pride in the accomplishments of its students and actively encourages further academic and creative engagement.
