PUBLIC LECTURE BY NATALIIA DUDCHENKO DURING THE TEXTILE AND LIGHT INDUSTRY WEEK

On May 22, 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a public online lecture by Nataliia Dudchenko, a leading researcher at the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials at Bar-Ilan University (Israel), entitled “Advanced textiles with antimicrobial properties using coatings of ZnO and CuO nanoparticles”. The event was held as part of the Textile and Light Industry Week. The lecture was attended by higher education students majoring in G15 “Light Industry Technologies” and academic staff of the departments of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion.

The moderator of the meeting, Yana Redko, PhD, Professor of the Department of Fashion Technology, introduced Nataliia to the audience and told about her scientific and professional achievements in the field of research on textiles with antimicrobial properties.

At the beginning of the lecture, Nataliia Dudchenko introduced the students to the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials of Bar-Ilan University (Israel), where she works, and familiarized them with the technical resources of the institute and its specialists.

During the lecture, Ms. Dudchenko delivered a rich and engaging presentation on the subject of her research. From the very first slides, it was evident how profound and scientifically grounded her professional interests and investigations are, particularly in the field of applying next-generation materials. Nataliia Dudchenko provided clear visualizations of her research and presented tangible results – samples of medical devices made from advanced textiles featuring antimicrobial properties and coatings with ZnO and CuO nanoparticles.

A separate block of the presentation concerned the technical equipment of the laboratory of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials of Bar-Ilan University (Israel), which impressed all the listeners with its modern equipment and technical capabilities.

Nataliia also focused the participants’ attention on the acute and painful environmental issues of today. Environmental problems dictate new urgent tasks for scientists and practitioners aimed at finding effective ways to solve them.

The lecture was accompanied by visual materials and an interactive discussion with the participants.

At the end of the lecture, Prof. Olha Haranina, Head of the Department of Fashion Technology, thanked Nataliia Dudchenko for her interesting and informative lecture and invited her to continue fruitful cooperation!
