STEP INTO THE FUTURE: INTRODUCING CAREER-DEFINING SPECIALTIES

On May 21, 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a career guidance event, serving as an effective platform for communication between prospective students, school representatives, and the university community.

The event was held within the framework of a partnership between KNUTD and the Kyiv City Employment Center. The Center was represented by leading career guidance specialist Lyudmyla Sosnovska and psychologist Iryna Safonova, both from the Kyiv City Employment Center branch.

The primary goal of the meeting was to support prospective students in making informed decisions about their future academic specializations.

This event served as a platform for students of the Technical Lyceum of Shevchenkivskyi District in Kyiv to get acquainted with the academic programs offered by KNUTD.

Representatives of the university’s faculties and institutes presented their educational programs, outlining potential career paths and discussing areas such as dual education, opportunities for academic mobility, international internships, and participation in scientific, social, and creative projects.

Guests were introduced to a wide range of academic programs, including D2 Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Stock Market; D5 Marketing; G15 Light Industry Technologies; A5 Vocational Education; C4 Psychology; B2  Design; F3 Computer Science; C2  Political Science; D8 Law; E6 Applied Physics and Nanomaterials; B11 Philology (by specializations), including B11.041  Germanic Languages and Literatures (Translation included), with English as the first language; G1 Chemical Technologies and Engineering; G2  Environmental Protection Technologies; G21 Biotechnology and Bioengineering; I8 Pharmacy (by specializations)

Student self-government representatives also played an active role in presenting the university’s programs: Maksym Krylov, Head of the Student Council of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies; Viktoriia Stepanets, Head of the Student Council of the Faculty of Design; Daria Karpenko, Head of the Student Council of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.

The student self-government representatives shared their personal learning experiences and spoke about career prospects as they perceive them through the lens of real student life — including expectations, challenges, and opportunities that studying at KNUTD offers.

Prospective students raised questions regarding the selection of academic specialties aligned with their personal interests, opportunities to design individual study plans, admission requirements, access to internships and practical training, as well as employment prospects after graduation.

Comprehensive answers to inquiries about educational opportunities, the development of personalized academic trajectories, study conditions at the university, and participation in international academic mobility programs were provided by Alla Kasych, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Activities (Educational Affairs) at KNUTD.

Tetiana Vlasiuk, Head of the KNUTD Admissions Committee, provided clarifications on admission requirements and the document submission process.

Questions from participants regarding future career opportunities were addressed by Nataliia Fastovets, Director of the KNUTD Center for Employment and Career. She introduced prospective students to the main directions for professional development offered by the university.

During the event, guests had the opportunity to explore the university’s achievements by watching a film about KNUTD, which clearly showcased the university as a modern institution that integrates academic excellence, creativity, innovation, and practical orientation.

Visitors were also introduced to the university’s educational studios, laboratories, hubs, and creative spaces.

As part of the career guidance event, a series of workshops were held, allowing participants to experience the atmosphere of student life and try themselves in the role of future professionals.

One such workshop was "The Art of Eco-Weaving with Paper Straw", presented by the Faculty of Arts and Fashion.

The workshop "Modern Technologies of 3D Textile Decoration" was also conducted by the Faculty of Arts and Fashion.

The workshop "Tasty Experiment" — making cotton candy — was organized by the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies.
