On May 22, 2025, the Faculty of Management and Business Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) successfully hosted an engaging Scientific Quest titled "Financial Alchemy: Transforming Knowledge into Capital". This event, organized as part of the annual Science Week, aimed to immerse students from all faculty specializations into the world of finance through an interactive and problem-oriented approach. The "quest" concept envisioned not just passive information reception, but active engagement of participants in the process of solution-seeking, situation analysis, and the transformation of theoretical knowledge into practical capital.
The Scientific Quest was designed as a multi-level journey of discovery, where each element served as a "key" to a deeper understanding of financial mechanisms. The central stage of this intellectual expedition was an open lecture by Dmytro Kovalenko, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of Finance and Business Consulting. The lecture was addressed to a broad audience – students of the first and second levels of higher education specializing in "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market," "Management," and "Marketing," underscoring the interdisciplinary importance of financial literacy. Due to an air raid alert, the event was promptly switched to a fully online format, demonstrating high adaptability and resilience to current challenges.
The quest format included not only the lecture component but also an active, interactive discussion. Students and teachers actively engaged with the speaker, posing clarifying questions concerning trends and prospects in the banking and insurance sector, the opportunities and benefits of mobile banking, and effective methods for protecting bank cards and accounts from fraudulent schemes. Discussions on real-world cases related to banking services allowed participants to directly "apply" the acquired knowledge, transforming it into practical skills.
The Scientific Quest "Financial Alchemy: Transforming Knowledge into Capital" thus proved to be more than just an educational event. It served as a dynamic platform for intellectual exploration and the practical application of financial knowledge. It vividly demonstrated how a modern university environment can effectively combine academic depth with interactive formats, preparing students for effective navigation in the complex world of finance and fostering the development of their capital – both financial and intellectual.
