Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design consistently implements a strategy aimed at preparing highly qualified and competitive professionals who not only acquire in-depth specialized knowledge but also develop a clear vision of their professional growth. An essential component of this policy is the activity of the KNUTD Career and Employment Center, which provides practical, informational, and advisory support to students and actively participates in national and regional initiatives that promote student career advancement.
From May 22 to 25, 2025, the KNUTD Career and Employment Center took part in one of the largest career guidance events of the year — the Career Festival.
The event brought together over 215 organizations, including leading Ukrainian companies, government institutions, international foundations, educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
Employers were represented by prominent organizations such as Silpo, Nova Poshta, Kyivstar, monobank | Universal Bank, PrivatBank, Ukrposhta, MHP, OKKO, BROCARD-Ukraine, Kernel, UKRNAFTA, among many others.
Representatives of the public sector also participated — including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the State Migration Service, Territorial Defense Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs — as well as numerous charitable and civic initiatives such as Teach for Ukraine, Zhytelub, and NGO Poruch.
In addition, the Career Festival featured the presentation of the research "Future Index: Career Expectations and Development of Teenagers in Ukraine", initiated by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
The presentation was carried out in collaboration with the KSE Institute and UNICEF Ukraine. The research findings clearly highlight the urgent need to create real opportunities for teenagers — accessible career guidance, internships, advice from career counselors, and an environment where they can explore, make mistakes, and discover themselves without fear or pressure.
The festival format included a wide range of activities: express interviews with employers, workshops on CV updating and interview preparation, career counseling sessions, soft skills development trainings, as well as company presentations and career opportunities across various sectors of the economy.
As part of the festival, well-known thought leaders and professionals took the stage, including Kateryna Osadcha, Yevhen Klopotenko, Ihor Smilianskyi, Artem Borodatiuk, and Garik Korohodskyi. They shared their personal career journeys and offered valuable advice to young people on how to realize their potential in the modern professional world.
The event also featured official representatives from the Ukrainian government: Dmytro Zavhorodnii from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Tetiana Berezhna from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
Particular attention was drawn to events such as the monobank workshop “Not the Right Job for Me? How to Change Beliefs and Find Your Calling”, a presentation by KP "KYIVTEPLOENERGO" on employment prospects in the energy sector, a panel discussion by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs on the integration of veterans into economic life, as well as interactive sessions hosted by 1+1 media, Cambridge.ua, and ITSTEP.
As part of the Career Festival, students and young professionals had a unique opportunity to participate in a series of express interviews organized in cooperation with Work.ua — one of Ukraine’s largest job search platforms. Throughout the festival, a dedicated zone hosted continuous short interviews with representatives of companies from various sectors — including logistics, agriculture, IT, retail, and banking.
This format enabled participants to: test themselves in real communication with recruiters; gain their first interview experience; learn how to present themselves effectively as candidates; and establish direct contacts with employers.
Many companies welcomed students with no prior experience, providing an excellent starting point for those seeking their first job, internship, or on-the-job training.
Representing KNUTD at the event was Natalia Fastovets, Director of the Career and Employment Center, who conducted a series of communications with employers, attended relevant panel discussions, gathered up-to-date insights into business expectations, and refreshed knowledge on current career trends and ideas that support effective career guidance for students.
The insights gained are already being integrated into the activities of the KNUTD Career and Employment Center, contributing to the enhancement of individual career planning tools, increasing the effectiveness of career support services, and strengthening the connection between the educational process and labor market needs.
Representing the KNUTD student community at the Career Festival was Kostiantyn Lytvynets, a student of the C2 “Political Science”.
As a result of KNUTD representatives’ participation in the Career Festival, a substantial body of new information was gathered on current internships, job vacancies, and employment trends. This information is now available to KNUTD students and graduates directly at the KNUTD Career and Employment Center.
The Center operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the following address: 2 Mala Shyyanovska Street, Building 1, Room 1-250.
KNUTD students and alumni can receive support in choosing a career path, writing a CV, preparing for interviews, and exploring internship opportunities or their first job placements.
The University will continue to consistently implement its strategy for supporting students’ career development, ensuring broad access to employment opportunities and promoting the successful integration of young professionals into today’s dynamic job market.
We look forward to seeing you at KNUTD!
