On 28 May 2025, the Mykola Lysenko House Museum (95 Saksahanskoho Street) hosted a vibrant and heartfelt concert celebrating the spirit of Kyiv, a city that inspires, unites, and evokes unforgettable emotions. The evening featured a rich and diverse programme of music by both Ukrainian and international composers, offering the audience a journey through lyrical and powerful pieces that reflected the city's beauty and resilience. The highlight of the event was the stirring finale: a joint performance of the beloved song “How Can I Not Love You, My Kyiv!” in which performers and audience members sang together with great enthusiasm and emotion.

The concert was organised by the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Creative Industries at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, in cooperation with the Museum of Outstanding Figures of Ukrainian Culture.

The concert was attended by the People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture, Oleksandr Vasylenko; the department’s leading concertmaster, Yulia Makhotina; third-year students of the speciality 026 Performing Arts of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design; and students of the Musical Arts speciality of the Educational and Research Institute “Donetsk State Prokofiev Music Academy” of Taurida National University.

We are especially pleased to note that this day also marks the birthday of the master of vocal art, People’s Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Vasylenko! We wish this talented artist continued inspiration and boundless energy for future creative achievements!

It was a heartfelt, emotional, and talented journey into the world of songs about Kyiv, filled with love, pride, and remembrance. We sincerely thank all the participants, organizers, and audience members for the warm atmosphere and unwavering support!
