In order to implement the Decision of the Academic Council of May 21, 2025, Protocol No. 3, last week an extended discussion of the educational and professional programs (EPPs) realized at the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving took place.
The discussion focused on the educational and professional bachelor’s programs “Chemical Technology and Engineering” and “Environmental Engineering”, as well as the master’s program “Chemical processing technologies of polymer and composite materials”. The meeting also considered the comments of experts from the industry expert council on improving the accredited educational and scientific program "Chemical Technology and Engineering".
The discussion was attended by guarantors of educational programs and members of the support groups:
Viktoriia PLAVAN, Doctor of Techn. Sci., Professor, Head of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving;
Lecturers of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving, Professors Nadiya SOVA and Volodymyr KHOMENKO;
Associate Professors of the Department Iryna LYASHOK and Olena KRYUKOVA;
PhD, senior lecturer Oksana BUTENKO.
The discussion focused on the results of internal monitoring of the quality of educational programs, as well as stakeholder proposals for their improvement, which were expressed during joint participation in scientific forums and exhibitions, Career Days, Job Fairs, excursions to enterprises, and other events. Particular attention was paid to modernizing the content of the EPPs, updating curricula in line with labor market demands, and integrating research findings into the educational process while ensuring adherence to the principles of academic integrity and the inadmissibility of violations by members of the University academic community.
The need for continuous improvement of educational programs was also repeatedly emphasized at joint meetings with the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies, Tetyana DERKACH.
As a result of the discussion, it was decided to take into account the proposals of stakeholders regarding the need to deepen the knowledge of future bachelors in the field of polymer materials science and to introduce the course “Polymer Materials Science” into the educational process. In addition, it was decided to increase the volume of the course “Functional Polymer Composites” for future masters. Taking into account the experience of implementing educational programs of an environmental focus in other educational institutions and to improve the mastering of the courses of the EPP “Environmental Engineering”, it was decided to introduce changes to the list of components of the educational and professional program and their logical sequence.
We hope that our efforts will contribute to the delivery of high-quality educational services and support the successful accreditation of our educational programs.
