KNUTD IN TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION – THE UNIVERSITY IMPACT RANKINGS 2025

On June 18, 2025, the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 were released, assessing the global influence of higher education institutions in the area of sustainable development. The ranking evaluated 2,526 universities from 130 countries or territories based on their progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to the results of the prestigious international Times Higher Education - THE University Impact Rankings 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is listed among the world’s top universities making the greatest contribution to sustainable development.

Times Higher Education identifies and highlights institutions that are successfully advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and demonstrating comprehensive excellence in contributing to global sustainability. By working towards these goals, universities like KNUTD show their commitment to addressing the most pressing global challenges, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and international partnership.

The ranking’s methodology combines scores across multiple SDGs to reflect the overall performance and impact of each university. The weighting of these scores highlights the institution’s efforts to promote strong international partnerships and cooperation aimed at achieving all of the United Nations SDG.

The ranking highlights the three highest scores across other SDGs for each university, recognizing their areas of greatest impact and contribution to sustainable development. Each of these top three SDG scores contributes 26% to the overall ranking. This approach emphasizes the strengths of each institution and also rewards their comprehensive contribution to the global SDG agenda.

In 2025, KNUTD achieved its strongest and most significant positions in the following SDGs:

SDG 5 – Gender Equality

SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy

SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
