KYIV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGIES AND DESIGN CONFIRMS ITS PARTNER STATUS IN THE WORLD ASSOCIATION OF TEXTILE UNIVERSITIES AUTEX 2025 FOR THE THIRD TIME

This year's AUTEX 2025 World Conference is organized and hosted by the Institute of Textile Engineering and High Performance Materials of the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden) in Germany from June 11 to 13, 2025. The Association of Textile Universities was founded in 1994 and currently has 50 members from 35 countries. Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, represented by the educational and scientific community of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, has been a member of AUTEX https://www.autex.org/members since 2022.

Every year, a conference is held at the sites of AUTEX partners, which demonstrates the openness, depth of cooperation and trust of the community. And this year was no exception. The guests were warmly welcomed by the ancient city of Dresden on the banks of the Elbe River, a city of constant modernization and improvement, a city of new things and preservation of the old. A similar atmosphere of knowledge and joy prevailed at the Institute of Textile Engineering and High Performance Materials TUD due to the high level of organization and conduct, professional development, interesting format and attention to the needs of the participants.

This year, the KNUTD educational and scientific community was represented at the conference on behalf of the university rector by Nataliia Ostapenko, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, and Alla Rubanka, Associate Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style. Their meeting with a colleague, a member of the Technical University of Dresden, scientist Olena Kyzymchuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of KNUTD, who sincerely took care of the Ukrainian representatives during all the days of the conference, was extremely joyful.

Subsequently, Ms. Olena introduced KNUTD representatives to talented colleagues and renowned world-class scientists - Prof. Dr. Chokri Cherif; Prof. Dr. Yordan Kyosev; and AUTEX President Savvas Vassiliadis (2022-2025).

With great interest, the conference participants discussed the poster presentations, the format of which facilitated the exchange of views and live communication. It was nice to find like-minded people and even opponents, because it only improves a certain scientific development or process.

The organization and technical support of the conference was very impressive, which was reflected in the use of the developed application with a program of topics, information about the attendees, etc. The format of the eventful conference included presentations by reputable speakers in breakout sessions at six different locations in spacious lecture halls with professional multimedia equipment.

The opening ceremony of the AUTEX World Conference was followed by presentations of the results of the latest scientific research in the sections “Recycling, Life Cycle Analysis, Sustainability and Circularity”, “Science and Technology of Textile Processing”, “Textile Structures, Properties”, “Artificial Intelligence in Textile and Apparel”, “Medical Textiles, Fabric Engineering”, "Industrial Textiles, Technical Textiles, Protective textiles“, ”Composites and membranes“, ”CAD/CAM, modeling, simulation and simulation in textiles and clothing“, ”Modern textile education and training“, ”Leather and footwear industry", etc. Kyiv National University of Technology and Design also presented its innovative developments on digitalization of the development of the latest rehabilitation products for people with special needs (after amputation).

Such a key event as AUTEX 2025 brought together leading scientists, researchers, professionals from various universities, research and technology centers and industrial companies around the world engaged in research and development in the field of textiles. A lot of innovative ideas and cutting-edge research in various sections were presented in the materials of the reports, which aroused interest and inspired the latest work in this area.

I also had a positive impression of the relevant and thorough presentation by Yordan Kyosev, a well-known scientist with new ideas and an unbiased view; the opportunity to communicate with Daiva Mikučonene, who presented the results of the work of the team of Ukrainian-Lithuanian scientists - Liudmyla Halavska, Liudmyla Melnyk, Milasius Rimvydas, Laureckienė Ginta - on knitted covers for compression therapy, was valuable.

The young scientist's powerful report on the accuracy of 3D scanning of the human body while moving in the context of clothing design expanded the scientific horizons of those present.

Among the members of the international academic community of textile profile, Maria Plutino reported at the sections, whose speech was devoted to improving the measurement of anthropometric indicators of the body of firefighters for the development of personal protective equipment.

Olena Kyzymchuk made a thorough presentation on the digitalization of the development of compression stockings for people with special needs with a team of authors - Yordan Kyosev, Mykola Riabchikov, Lyudmyla Melnyk, and Nurmukhammad Khudaiberdiev.

In his report, the speaker presented a study on measuring the deformation of jacket materials when the consumer makes hand movements. Such interesting reports prompted reflection and discussion.

Scientists from the KNUTD Faculty of Arts and Fashion presented the results of their research in poster presentations on the reliability of threaded joints of textile braids for protective equipment (Natalia Ostapenko, Halyna Oliynyk, Alla Rubanka, Olena Kolosnichenko, Tetiana Lutsker) and the formation of the properties of natural leather for footwear (Natalia Pervaya, Olha Haranina, Olha Andreeva) and during a general discussion.

The video report by Lilia Chertenko, Daria Kaptiurova, Bernd Franke, and Natalia Kuzina was relevant and entertaining. The speaker presented the results of the team's work on improving the production of orthopedic footwear using digital technologies.

After the presentations, the speakers were asked questions in an atmosphere of scientific tolerance. During the conference, a lively scientific communication with many talented colleagues and researchers from around the world took place in an informal atmosphere, discussing topical issues, sharing experiences, presenting new ideas and products.

We are extremely grateful to be a part of the international association and to have the opportunity to join the AUTEX World Conference every year. Deep scientific integration and belonging to the scientific community of innovators this year is grateful for valuable and useful information, impeccable organization, a real scientific dialogue that enriched everyone with new experience, providing each participant with ample opportunities to get acquainted with the work of colleagues, freely discuss current issues, master the latest theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of modern textile science, inspiring new achievements.

Next year, the AUTEX 2026 conference is scheduled to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, where we will be happy to present new scientific developments of KNUTD!
