As part of the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation with the NGO "Cossack Guard of Ukraine", students of the C2 "Political Science" and D8 "Law" programs from the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design took part in the Ukraine Recovery Conference on June 21, 2025.
The conference was organized at the initiative of Rising Leaders for the Future in partnership with the Kyiv City Council. The event took place in the Column Hall of the Kyiv City Council and brought together leading experts in the fields of politics, law, economics, international security, and public administration.
The event combined an international-level lecture and two panel discussions dedicated to the key challenges of our time: building a recovery-oriented economy based on security, trust, and long-term stability; shaping a new geopolitical architecture and implementing mechanisms of international support; and reflecting on Ukraine’s strategic role as an active player in global transformations.
Special attention was drawn to the lecture by Magnus Kolaas on the topic "Turning Waste into Wealth", dedicated to circular engineering as the foundation of a new sustainable development economic model focused on efficient resource use and technological innovation.
The event also featured analytical reports and expert commentary, where specialists shared their own approaches to public policy, economic transformation paths, security mechanisms, and legal regulation:Pavlo Kozyrev – Head of the All-Ukrainian NGO "Association of Small Cities of Ukraine"; Damir Rakhmatullin – Member of the "Kyiv City Youth Council"; Valerii Klochok – Political expert and public figure.
During the event, KNUTD students had the opportunity not only to engage in meaningful discussions on current challenges, but also to interact with students from other higher education institutions, share their own views, hear alternative perspectives, and express their civic stance.
In informal conversations and during the panel sessions, they observed how professional knowledge in law, political science, economics, and public administration transforms into concrete, practical solutions that shape the strategic framework for the country’s development.
The participants of the event became acquainted with international approaches to sustainable development, particularly the concept of the circular economy. They explored the interconnection between political decisions, economic models, and the regulatory environment; gained experience in participating in professional discussions; learned to critically reflect on complex topics; express their views with well-founded arguments; and communicate within a professional environment.
Students shared their impressions of participating in the Ukraine Recovery Conference during a meeting of the Discussion academic club (supervised by PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor Nataliya Fastovets), noting that the conference was not only an academic experience, but also an example of being actively involved in real transformational processes.
KNUTD is consistently shaping an educational environment where students gain not only theoretical knowledge but also experience in professional communication, strategic analysis, and participation in societal processes.
Through such initiatives, the university fosters an environment that develops a new generation of professionals — individuals with a deep understanding of reality who are capable of acting responsibly for the sake of a shared, peaceful future.
