ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND BUSINESS CONSULTING

On 12 June 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a roundtable discussion of the educational programmes of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting with stakeholders from the academic community, employers, students and alumni.

The event was moderated by Iryna Tarasenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, guarantor of the educational and professional programme “Finance, Banking and Insurance” of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education (speciality D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market”).

The Department of Finance and Business Consulting of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design took part in the event: Andrii Zolkover, guarantor of the educational and scientific programme “Finance, Banking and Insurance” of the third level of higher education, speciality D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market”, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Valentyna Levchenko, guarantor of the educational and professional programme “Corporate Finance and Investment Consulting” of the second (master's) level of higher education, speciality D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market”, Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Doctor of Economics, Professor; the academic staff members (Dmytro Kovalenko, Olha Batrak, Yuliіa Rusina, Mykola Matiukha) and higher education students of the relevant educational programmes (Andrii Zaitsev, Maksym Studinskyi, Oleksii Semenchuk, Ilya Bulantsov, Denys Filippov, Oleh Pakosh).

The discussion was attended by stakeholders from the academic community: Vitaliy Venger, Head of the Trade and Industrial Policy Department of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Senior Researcher; Lidiya Kostyrko, Head of the Department of Finance and Banking at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Valentyna Hlukhova, Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor; Kostyantyn Bezverkhyi, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Analysis and Audit at the State University of Trade and Economics, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor; Maksym Zhytar, Professor of the Department of Finance, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Iryna Parasiy-Vergunenko, Professor of the Department of Financial Analysis and Audit of the State University of Trade and Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Yana Oliynyk, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Academy of Financial Management, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor.

Stakeholders from employers also joined the discussion of the Department's educational programmes: Oleksandr Bondar, CEO of Mega-Polis; Kateryna Mohyla, Head of Kyiv Branch of JSC CB FUIB; Volodymyr Kostin, Head of the Branch Group of Kyiv Regional Centre of FUIB; Liudmyla Kolisetska, Member of the Management Board, Chief Financial Officer of INGO Insurance Company; Yuliia Liubtsova, Senior Personal Financial Consultant for Individual Business of UKRSIBBANK JSC (graduate of the Department); Viktoriia Godz, Chief State Inspector of the Department of Scheduled Tax Audits of Individuals of the Department of Tax Audit of Individuals of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv (graduate of the Department).

During the discussion, the purpose, uniqueness and educational components that contribute to the formation of general and professional competencies and the achievement of programme learning outcomes, as well as the specifics of educational programmes were noted: “Finance, Banking and Insurance” of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education; “Corporate Finance and Investment Consulting” of the second (master's) level of higher education, “Finance, Banking and Insurance” of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education.

During the discussion of the educational programmes, Yana Oliynyk drew attention to the relevance, timeliness and demand for specialists in the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education; Iryna Parasiy-Verhunenko stressed the need to strengthen the ECs related to econometric methods of analysis, as well as the expediency of including financial technologies in the content of elective disciplines for the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education; Lidiya Kostyrko noted that all the programmes are well-grounded, both theoretically and practically, and meet the challenges of today and Ukraine's strategic course of integration into the European financial space, emphasising the expediency of introducing the discipline of financial technologies as a separate EC in the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education; Kateryna Mohyla emphasised the long-term cooperation of JSC CB FUIB with the Department of Finance and Business Consulting of KNUTD, which has a positive impact on the training of specialists at all levels of higher education under the programmes discussed; Vitalii Venger, Kostiantyn Bezverkhyi, Valentyna Hlukhova and Maksym Zhytar offered to support all three programmes positively. The Department's stakeholders shared their experience in training specialists in finance, banking, insurance, and the stock market and generally supported the content of the EPPs and PLOs, as well as provided suggestions for their improvement.

Following the discussion, the colleagues positively assessed the educational programmes of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting and noted that the proposals submitted during the preliminary discussion of the PLOs and the ULOs were taken into account by the project teams.
