WORKING MEETING IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE JOINT UKRAINIAN-GERMAN PROJECT

The working visit of KNUTD scientists to the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, took place from June 17 to 24 as part of the joint Ukrainian-German research project " Digitalization of the advanced rehabilitation products development for people with special needs (after limb amputation)".

In accordance with the plan of international scientific cooperation, the meeting was held at the Department of Development and Assembly of Textile Products of the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology of TUD. The Institute is one of the world's leading educational and research centers with interdisciplinary research into technological chains for the production of innovative textile materials.

УThe Ukrainian team was represented by the head of the research work Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Liudmyla MELNYK and the project participants D.Sc. (Econ.), Prof., Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation Liudmyla GANUSHCHAK-EFIMENKO, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof., Head of the International Institute of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Svitlana ARABULI, D.Sc. (Eng.), Prof. Olena KYZYMCHUK.

The German team was represented by the head of the research work, Professor, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil., Head of the Chair of Development and Assembly of Textile Products Yordan Kyosev, Dipl.-Wi.-Ing., Researcher Anselm Naake, Dipl.-Wi.-Ing., Researcher Niklas Schmidt. The project participants discussed the stages of developing an algorithm for the design and digital visualization of a functional rehabilitation product for people with an amputated limb will be developed, which takes into account the individual characteristics of the stump (shape, size, amputation site) and the properties of the knitted materials.

The practical part of the meeting was carried out in a modern MOVE 4D  body scanning laboratory. Ukrainian scientists gained practical experience working with the MOVE 4D three-dimensional human scanning system, which allows recording the body position during various movements with a frequency of more than 20 scans per second and performing high-precision scanning of the body shape and size.

During the visit, members of the Ukrainian team got acquainted with the laboratories of the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology of TUD, equipped with high-performance weaving and knitting equipment, and the main achievements in the field of development of innovative textiles.

We are sincerely grateful to our German partners for the excellent organization of the meeting, the general scientific dialogue, and the opportunity to get acquainted with modern directions of development of textile science!
