In April 2025, the Abakanowicz Charitable Foundation (AACCF), the European League of Higher Art Educational Institutions ELIA, and the UAx Platform announced a competition for students of Ukrainian art institutions to receive the UAx Abakanowicz Fellowship 2025. The selection was carried out by an international independent jury consisting of professionals in the field of art and design.
Congratulations to the winners of the selection, students of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD, who received a scholarship!
Liliya Kalita, group BDg3-22, EP Graphic Design, constantly participates in competitions, projects and initiatives, already works as a graphic designer, and is constantly developing her professional skills.
Sofia Voropai, group BDm3-24, EP Multimedia Design, develops digital projects, and is also fond of traditional drawing.
Vladyslava Zarubaeva, group BDm2-23 (EP Multimedia Design), is interested in photography, cinema, and art. While studying at the Faculty of Design of KNUTD, she constantly participates in various creative projects and develops graphics, animation, collages, and videos.
Jayden Terletsky, BDm3-23, EP Multimedia Design. He is fond of the art forms of video games and comics, explores the genres of grind fiction, grunge, and is also engaged in analog photography.
Daria Andrienko, group BDo2-22, EP Fashion Design. She likes to create unique things, create sketches of clothes, select materials, and develop the concept of the collection.
Ilya Mozgovy, group BDo2-22, EP Fashion Design. Has experience in participating in international competitions, is the author of clothing and accessory collections. He is fond of drawing and decorative clothing decoration techniques.
The main goal of the UAx Abakanowicz Fellowship is to provide comprehensive support to art students from Ukrainian art institutions. The scholarship program consists of three components: a UAx scholarship, UAx mentorship, and the opportunity to participate in the UAx student community.
✅ 1. UAx Scholarships
Each student will receive a scholarship of 2,000 euros for the 2025-2026 academic year. These funds are intended to help students meet their immediate financial needs, direct funds to their own development, and enable them to continue their studies in higher education programs in the field of art in Ukraine.
✅ 2. UAx Mentoring
The UAx Mentoring Program provides the opportunity for selected fellows during the 2025-2026 academic year to receive mentoring from experienced lecturers from the sister school of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD - Oslo National Academy of the Arts (Norway): Andreas Berg, Professor of the Department of Design, Frederik Staum Floen, Lecturer in the Department of Fashion and Costume Design, and to develop their own design projects under their guidance.
✅ 3. UAx Student Community
The UAx ELIA Bureau constantly organizes online events and webinars on topics of interest to the student community. Students will have the opportunity to participate in these events and attend a student event next summer for Abakanowicz fellows.
On August 11, 2025, a meeting of the scholarship recipients with representatives of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Design was held. Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, congratulated the winners, wished them creative success and fruitful cooperation with their mentors. The meeting discussed possible topics for future student projects.
