On August 19, 2025, first-year students of the D5 Marketing program at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, accompanied by their mentors Olena Yevtseitseva, Pavlo Shevchuk, and Yurii Horodetskyi, began a new academic chapter with an insightful visit to the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library.
This visit was more than just a tour of the library — it was a deep dive into the vast world of knowledge and resources the university library offers. The excursion began with an overview of the library’s structure, rules for accessing the collections, and its modern digital capabilities. Students were particularly intrigued by the electronic catalog, the literature reservation system, and remote access services that enable efficient use of resources even off-campus.
The KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library is far more than a repository of books. It is an innovative hub that merges tradition with modernity. Its collection holds tens of thousands of scientific, educational, reference, and fiction titles — including rare editions, old prints, and folios, which sparked great interest among the visitors. Many of these items are unique, preserved in only a few libraries across Ukraine.
In addition, the library actively supports cultural and educational initiatives. It regularly hosts exhibitions, book presentations, themed evenings, author meetings, and showcases of contemporary Ukrainian literature. During their visit, students had the opportunity to explore this segment, which resonated especially well with them, offering a glimpse into the dynamic literary landscape of modern Ukraine.
“Our library is a place where every student can find not only information but also inspiration,” said Library Director Tetiana Bukoros, encouraging students to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library.
This day marked a wonderful beginning to the students’ adaptation to university life, offering bright impressions and practical knowledge. Students came to realize that the library is not just a reading room, but a strategic partner in their education and personal growth.
