On September, 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design held a large-scale event — Entrepreneurship Day, which brought together about 1,200 participants: students, teachers, entrepreneurs, and guests of honor of the university. The event united young people around the ideas of creativity, mutual support, and the development of entrepreneurial thinking.
The celebration began within the walls of the university with a series of lectures for students majoring in economics. Speakers shared their own success stories, talked about their first steps in business, the challenges of modern conditions, and the opportunities that entrepreneurship opens up for the new generation. Young people received not only practical advice but also valuable guidance from people who have gone from startups to recognized projects.
The celebration continued in the square near the university. Here, guests were greeted by a photo zone, and the festive mood was created by the a cappella singing of the famous song «Chervona Kalyna».
Acting Rector of KNUTD Oleksandra Olshanska addressed the students with a sincere welcome speech. In her address, Oleksandra Olshanska emphasized the importance of forming an active life position, leadership qualities, and creative thinking in students, which is especially relevant in the context of modern challenges. She noted that the university is not only a place to gain knowledge, but also a space for personal development, realizing potential, and the birth of new leaders capable of changing the country for the better.
Words of support and inspiration for young people were also heard from the guests of honor at the event, whose presence added special significance and solemnity to the celebration. Each of them is a shining example of professional success and self-realization, and their contribution to the development of the country is significant and inspiring. The guests of honor at the event were:
- Bogdan Danylyshyn is a prominent Ukrainian economist, Doctor of Economics, professor, and academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is a former Minister of Economy of Ukraine (2007–2010) and Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine (2016–2022). In his speech, he emphasized the importance of economic literacy for young people and encouraged students to boldly build their own professional paths without fear of change and challenges;
- Oksana Prodan is a Ukrainian entrepreneur, public figure, and member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VII and VIII convocations. In her political career, she defended the interests of small and medium-sized businesses. At the event, she shared her own experience of creating and running a business, and inspired students to take an active civic stance and show initiative;
- JAMALA is a singer, People's Artist of Ukraine, and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Her work is distinguished by deep patriotism, social activism, and artistic boldness. Her presence was a real highlight of the celebration. Jamala's performance not only gave the audience strong emotions, but also reminded them of the power of art, which unites, inspires, and gives hope;
- Andriy Romanenko is a People's Artist of Ukraine, opera singer, and soloist of the National Opera. He performed a vocal number, giving the audience a real aesthetic pleasure and demonstrating the power of academic art in the modern cultural space.
- Petro Chornyi is a pop singer, People's Artist of Ukraine, known for his unique voice and emotional sincerity. His performance on stage was a highlight of the celebration, evoking warm emotions and thunderous applause.
Their speeches were a source of inspiration and support for students who dream of realizing themselves in various spheres of life.
The festive atmosphere was emphasized by bright dance and vocal performances by talented students of KNUTD.
The culmination of the event was the setting of a Ukrainian national record — «The largest amount of pilaf cooked during a single event.» This initiative brought together students, teachers, and guests, becoming a symbol of hospitality and unity within the university community.
Sports competitions became an important part of Entrepreneurship Day. Football, volleyball, and streetball matches were held at the KNUTD stadium between dormitories. The winners were awarded Giftmall certificates, which was a nice bonus for team spirit and sporting achievements.
In addition to sports competitions, various interactive locations were open to students throughout the day. They had the opportunity to actively spend time on sports grounds, try their hand at board games, and participate in a photo contest on social networks, where they competed for the most creative photos.
Entrepreneurship Day 2025 at KNUTD became a real celebration of youth, sports, creativity, and records. It united the university community and gave students new ideas, opportunities, and inspiration to realize their own plans.
