Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is an active member of the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI), an international association that brings together educational institutions, research organizations, and experts who work together to establish high ethical standards in education and science. ENAI members focus their activities on promoting the principles of academic integrity, creating and disseminating open educational resources, and supporting educational institutions in implementing ethical practices.

As part of its support for these initiatives, KNUTD has established the tradition of holding thematic lectures for first-year students at the beginning of each academic year. On September 11, 2025, Professor Olena Stepanova, Doctor of Culture Studies and Head of the University’s Center for Quality Management in Education, delivered a lecture on Academic Integrity for students majoring in A5 Professional Education (Light Industry Technology), C4 Psychology, and G15 Light Industry Technology.

During the meeting, Professor Olena Stepanova emphasized the key role of academic integrity as the foundation for quality education, creative development, and the professional growth of future specialists. She highlighted the importance of adhering to ethical standards of conduct, avoiding plagiarism, respecting copyright, and upholding academic responsibility. Particular attention was given to the significance of building students’ reputations as responsible and honest participants in the educational process.

Professor Stepanova stressed that the development of one’s creative potential is possible only with respect for the intellectual property of others. The University provides students with all the necessary tools to ensure that learning is both high-quality and honest, including access to plagiarism-checking systems.

The information provided is especially valuable for first-year students, as it is at the beginning of their educational journey that they need to develop proper academic habits. These habits will contribute to successful learning, the defense of qualification works, and the formation of responsible and respected professionals.
