Anxiety is one of the most common emotional states of a person, manifested in a strong obsessive emotional experience of an unpredictable situation that may occur in the future. It is a serious problem for many people and can have a negative impact on their lives and work. It is worth noting that according to a report by the World Health Organization, anxiety is the second most common disorder after depression, affecting a large number of people worldwide.

On September 12, 2025, Alla Kolodyazhna, PhD in Psychology and Associate Professor at the Department of Professional Education in Technologies and Design, took part in a webinar titled “Anxiety Disorders of Children and Adults: How to Work with Age-Specific Characteristics, organized by the International Psychological Association of Projective Methods.

The speaker at the event was Yana Kobets, a practicing psychologist, trauma therapist (in training), psychotherapist in the existential approach (in training), and Gestalt consultant. She works as a psychologist in a project supporting women and children who have experienced loss due to war. Yana Kobets is also the author of manuals on child psychology, a trainer at the International Psychological Association of Projective Methods (IPAPM), a member of the National Psychological Association and the Guild of Integrative Psychology, as well as a psychologist at the non-governmental organizations “Adaptonica” and “Vazhlyvі”.

During the webinar, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the nature of anxiety disorders, their symptoms, and their impact on both mental and physical health. The discussion focused on the key differences between normal and pathological anxiety, the underlying causes of anxiety disorders, and the age-specific features of their manifestation in children and adults. The knowledge gained will help participants to better recognize the signs of anxiety and to provide more effective support for both their own mental well-being and the psycho-emotional state of others.

We sincerely thank the organizers for their excellent communication and for providing meaningful and thorough material during the webinar!
