FACULTY OF ARTS AND FASHION – A SPACE FOR STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

Each year, the Faculty of Arts and Fashion traditionally opens the door for first-year students to the world of science, professional development, and creativity. In the 2025/2026 academic year, this journey began with an introduction to the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library and the KNUTD Career and Employment Center.

Between September 4 and September 16, 2025, the curatorial team — Tetiana Dzykhovych, Inna Kosiak, Yana Mamchenko, and Alona Tykhomyrova — together with their academic groups of the first (bachelor's) level of education, specializing in A5 – Vocational Education (Technology of Light Industry Products), C4 – Psychology, and G15 – Light Industry Technologies, along with the Dean of the Faculty, Nataliia Ostapenko, and the Deputy Dean, Alla Kolodiazhna, held a series of meetings aimed at introducing students to the various opportunities offered by the faculty and the university.

First-year students were introduced to the resources offered by the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library and the KNUTD Career and Employment Center.

The Scientific and Technical Library was presented by its Director, PhD in Political Science and Associate Professor Tetiana Bukoros, Head of the Collection Storage Department Liudmyla Krekhova, and Head of the Information Technology and Computer Support Department Olena Kotvytska.

Students learned about the available electronic catalogs, modern information services, periodicals, international databases such as Web of Science and Scopus, as well as the functionalities of the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library website. First-year students registered as library users, explored the library’s collection, and gained their first practical skills in working with scientific literature.

The opportunities provided by the KNUTD Career and Employment Center were presented by its Director, PhD in Public Administration and Associate Professor Nataliia Fastovets. She outlined the Center’s areas of activity, including career training sessions, consultations, cooperation with employers, and student involvement in career guidance initiatives. Special emphasis was placed on the steps first-year students can take today to begin shaping their professional image — such as mastering modern self-presentation techniques, building a portfolio, and developing competencies essential for career growth.

The team of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, under the leadership of the university administration, is creating broad opportunities that support students in realizing their professional potential.

We express our sincere gratitude for the organization of the event, effective communication, and the informative and well-structured content of the lecture!
