EXHIBITION OF STUDENTS UNDER THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “DIGITAL ART” “ONE DAY FROM THE FUTURE. KYIV”

On August 19 and 25, 2025, the Department of Digital Art of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Culture and Creative Industries held an art exhibition of higher education students of the BCM-1-24 group “One Day from the Future. Kyiv.”

The event was organized and the project was led by Olesia Rybchenko, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Art. Anastasia Avula, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Art, created the visual image of the exhibition and helped with organization. The exhibition of works by students and teachers took place in Tel Aviv, Israel, initiated by Olena Kamyana, head of the public organization “Ukrainian Zdybanki.” The exhibition featured 35 paintings.

The charity exhibition “One Day from the Future. Kyiv” presents an artistic vision of the future and a reflection on the present by students of the Department of Digital Art, KNUTD. The exhibition unites contemporary art with an important mission supporting Ukraine in the challenging post-war years.

Through their works, young artists imagine Kyiv in the decades to come: a rebuilt, modern city full of energy and life. At the same time, the project serves as a symbol of gratitude to those who are defending Ukraine today, making this future possible.

The main themes of the exhibition included Kyiv of the future, focusing on architectural and urban visions; technology and innovation, highlighting artificial intelligence and environmental solutions; people and the city, reflecting social and cultural changes; and memory and traditions, presenting Kyiv’s heritage in a new dimension. The exhibition targeted a diverse audience, including the Ukrainian diaspora in Israel, contemporary art enthusiasts, representatives of cultural institutions, as well as volunteers and charitable organizations.

The art project was the result of cooperation between Ukraine and Israel, bringing together second-year students from the Department of Digital Art of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Culture and Creative Industries at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. Our students created 35 artworks. The main goal was not only to share their artistic vision, but also to create a real project for the restoration of Ukraine and the promotion of Ukrainian culture.

Why art? Because it is a language that everyone understands, regardless of country, age, or experience. It is a language that can express complex ideas through simple images. Our students were born and raised at a time when war became a part of their lives. However, instead of remaining silent, they chose to speak through creativity. Their works are a testament to a generation that does not stand aside.

This project was made possible thanks to solidarity. We are grateful to the public organization “Ukrainian Zdybanki in Israel” and especially its director, Olena Kamyana, for their genuine support and faith in young people.

Gratitude is expressed to Antonina Dubrivna, Head of the Department of Digital Art at KNUTD, for her continuous support of students and teachers. It is believed that the “One Day from the Future”, a time of peace, silence, and freedom, will inevitably arrive. The project in Israel represents a small but significant step in this direction.

Gratitude is extended for the attention, support, and solidarity shown. Collective efforts strengthen the impact of such initiatives.

Glory to Ukraine!

May Ukraine flourish, free, strong, and independent!
