On September 19-21, 2025, the festival “Arsenal of Ideas. Different Together” took place at the Mystetsky Arsenal. This is an annual project that brings together representatives of creative industries, education, and museum institutions from different regions of Ukraine. This year, the Department of Art and Fashion Design presented replicas of historical costumes from the times of Kyivan Rus at a playground arranged by the staff of the National Reserve “Sophia Kyivska”.

The Department and the Reserve are united by long-standing cooperation, within which several projects have been carried out in recent years, including three exhibitions, open-air displays, excursions, and master classes. For several years, the permanent exhibition at the Zaborovsky Gate gallery – part of the Reserve – has featured three costume ensembles created by students of the Department. The curators of the costume reconstruction work and organizers of the joint exhibitions are Associate Professors Halyna Kokorina and Iryna Davydenko.

The project “Arsenal of Ideas. Different Together” was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation under the grant program “Resilience of Society through Culture”. It brought together children, adolescents and their parents, as well as teachers from various educational institutions and museum staff, aiming to engage them in learning, volunteering, and traveling across Ukraine and beyond.
At the educational and interactive area of the “Sophia Kyivska” museum, visitors explored an exhibition of costumes created by students of the Department of Art and Costume Design (curated by Associated Professors Halyna Kokorina and Iryna Davydenko). Guests had the opportunity to learn about traditional crafts and historical costume features, try on ancient clothing, and take souvenir photos.
In a relaxed and engaging atmosphere, festival visitors discovered the history of medieval fashion while also receiving information about educational institutions offering careers in fashion design.
