Since the inception of one of the most ambitious creative events of the year Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week (UDIW)). The Faculty of Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design has been an active participant. The university's teachers and students traditionally join all events of this project.

On September 30, 2025, Associate Professor of the Department of Multimedia Design at KNUTD Ruslana Khynevych, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, gave a lecture on “Multimedia Design: from History to Modern Practices”.

During the lecture, Ruslana Khynevych examined the historical origins of the concept of “multimedia” and the stages of multimedia design development. She characterized the main groups of multimedia products according to their functional purpose. Examples of contemporary practices from the archive of student works of the Department of Multimedia Design were demonstrated for each group.

The lecturer paid particular attention to the interaction between visual and auditory sequences, the role of interactivity, and the development of technologies that are changing the approach to creating multimedia projects. More than 60 participants joined the lecture, including students and teachers from KNUTD, Khmelnytsky National University, Ivan Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, and other universities in Ukraine.

This lecture sparked genuine interest among the audience: both design students and experienced professionals and mentors of our talented youth.
