From October 1 to 3, 2025, scientists from the Faculty of Design of the KNUTD took part in the second working meeting of the partners of the international project Erasmus+ InnovaTex Project, which brought together partners from Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Greece and Italy. The project participants were hospitably welcomed by the Technical University of Moldova to discuss the stages of project implementation and determine strategic directions for the implementation of the project work packages to improve the digital skills of students and employees of the textile industry of Ukraine and Moldova.
The meeting program included coordination of financial and administrative aspects, discussion of the stages of creating innovative smart laboratories, preparation of educational content and development of an e-learning platform for integration into the European educational space, etc. The participants of the meeting from Ukraine were Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Olena Gerasymenko, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD, as well as partners from Kherson National Technical University: Mariia Artemenko, First Vice-Rector, Larysa Ponomarenko, Director of the International Department.
As part of the meeting, a visit was made to the Faculty of Design of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM), where they were introduced to the areas of scientific research, educational programs, modern technologies and methods of training designers and fashion industry specialists. For many years, the Faculty of Design of the University of Moldova has been training specialists for light industry (sewing, textile, footwear, knitwear, etc.). The faculty team, led by Dean Marcela Irovan, continues to maintain traditions and a high level of training specialists, opening up new specialties, for example, game design. We would like to thank our colleagues Angela Skripchenko, Marcela Irovan, and Valentina Bulgaru for the many years of cooperation between KNUTD and TUM, which has lasted for more than 20 years.
InnovaTex project participants were introduced to the State Institution "Center for Excellence in Light Industry" (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova). The director of the center, Oleksandra Raetski, shared her experience in training specialists for light industry.
The third day of the meeting of the InnovaTex Project participants ended with a visit to the Moldovan Brands Runway show of collections by Moldovan designers. In one space, Moldovan Brands Runway brought together designers from Moldova, Ukraine and other countries of the world. The professional podium presented both collections of experienced designers and graduates of partner universities in Moldova, who initially participated in the International Competition "Pecherski Kashtany" at the KNUTD as beginners, and are now professionals.
