On October 9, 2025, the grand opening of the collective exhibition of teachers of the Faculty of Design of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design "COLORS OF ART", dedicated to the Day of the Artist of Ukraine and the 95th anniversary of the founding of KNUTD, took place at the Exhibition Center "Artistic Space" of KNUTD.

Among the authors of the exhibition are teachers of the KNUTD, members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Union of Designers of Ukraine Yevhen Gula, Swiatoslav Podlewsky, Oleksandr Krotevych, Volodymyr Padun, Oksana Maznichenko, Alla Osadcha, Liliia Zhuravel-Zmieieva, Anatoly Shapoval, Liliia Bezugla, Oleksandr Vasyliev, Aurelia Kolesnikova.

The grand opening of the exhibition was opened by Oleksandra Olshanska, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Acting Rector of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. In her speech, she emphasized that KNUTD provides multi-level training of qualified specialists in various specialties, but the presence of art education in the technological university is a highlight, a feature that distinguishes the university from others.

Oleksandra Olshanska also reminded those present of the important role that art plays in the life of a nation, especially during war, because works of art reflect the inner experiences, emotions, feelings, thoughts and memories of their authors, give hope for a bright future, for a peaceful life, support the identity of the nation and the culture of the Ukrainian people. The Acting Rector congratulated the teachers of the Faculty of Design on the opening of the exhibition, wished the artists creative inspiration and new interesting projects.

Oleksandra Olshanska presented the book “KNUTD Mystetskyi” to the artists who worked and are working at KNUTD. The bright edition contains illustrations of the works of the following artists: Yevhen Gula, Oleksandr Krotevych, Mykhailo Rudenko, Yuri Basanets, Oleksandra Basanets, Dmytro Koval, Anatoly Shapoval, Uliana Balan, Alla Osadcha, Swiatoslav Podlewsky, Volodymyr Padun and other talented artists.

Dean of the Faculty of Design Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, noted in her speech that it is art education that is the basis on which the design profession is based, therefore many teachers of the Faculty of Design of the KNUTD are artists, members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Union of Designers of Ukraine and other creative unions and organizations. Such staff of the Faculty of Design, original teaching methods, and many years of collective work became the basis for the formation of the KNUTD as a world-famous school of design and art.

On behalf of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Oleksiy Pergamenshchykov, a Ukrainian sculptor-monumentalist, a full member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, came to congratulate his colleagues on the opening of the exhibition. He conveyed warm greetings from the Chairman of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Kostiantyn Cherniavsky, candidate of art history, and members of the board of the union.

Famous Ukrainian artist Leonid Bernat, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, noted the high level of the works presented at the exhibition.

Leonid Sotnik, Honored Artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, and a famous Ukrainian artist, in his greeting emphasized the importance of art, which supports society in difficult times for our country.

Warm words of welcome and support for Ukraine were heard from the well-known Danish writer and art curator Steen Anderson.

Colleagues from the Union of Designers of Ukraine joined in the congratulations on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition. In his video address, Yuriy Borysov, head of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, congratulated the artists on the opening of the exhibition, wished the KNUTD team further success, development and prosperity, and continued to maintain high positions in world rankings.

The exhibition "Colors of Art" is a vivid example of how contemporary art combines tradition and innovation, maintaining a deep connection with national culture and reflecting it through the prism of innovative techniques and interpretations that emphasize the richness of Ukraine's cultural identity and Ukrainian talents. Each of the artists spoke about their own work, trying to convey the concept of their own works.

The host of the event, Liudmyla Ardelian, Honored Artist of Ukraine, a famous Ukrainian theater and film actress, associate professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of the KNUTD, and students of the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries presented the guests with a poetic greeting - the poem "Artist" by the Ukrainian poet Lina Kostenko.

The collective exhibition presents works made in various techniques and styles, but all of them are united by the concept of transmitting the artist's thoughts and feelings through artistic techniques on canvas.

Participation in the exhibition "COLORS OF ART" gave each artist the opportunity to express their vision of the world around them, apply the latest techniques, and experiment with materials, because through the combination of shapes and colors, artistic images, talented artists convey their sense of reality.

The exhibition is open to visitors until October 30, 2025 at the Exhibition Center "Art Space" of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (2 Mala Shiyanovska St., Building 4).
