On October 16, 2025, the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design hosted a webinar "Education without Borders within the InnovaTex Project: International Cooperation for the Development of the Textile and Fashion Industry", which became part of the international initiative #ErasmusDays2025, which is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Office of the European Commission and the Erasmus+ National Agencies in the participating countries.
The moderators of the event were Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Olena Gerasymenko, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the main areas of the EU Erasmus+ Program. The moderators of the meeting spoke about the application process and the progress of the Erasmus+ project 101183393 — InnovaTex — ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CB-VET “Innovations in the field of smart and digital skills in vocational education for the modern textile industry”, which is implemented by scientists of the Faculty of Design within the framework of the KA2 direction “Collaboration projects”.
The coordinators of the event shared their experience on how to apply and implement an Erasmus+ project, since such projects open up new horizons for universities – opportunities for creating laboratories, learning platforms, publishing manuals, as well as developing international cooperation.
The meeting was joined by partners of the InnovaTex project - colleagues from Kherson National Technical University: Mariia Artemenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, First Vice-Rector, Larysa Ponomarenko, Director of the International Department, Mariia Rastorgueva, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Technologies.
The InnovaTex project implementers said that they plan to develop an electronic textbook in English with subsequent translation into Ukrainian and Romanian, as well as develop an interactive online platform for training students and industry professionals. One of the main achievements of the project will be the creation of Smart laboratories for 3D design of smart fabrics and products in Ukraine and Moldova. Modern equipment for the Smart laboratory in Ukraine has already been purchased by KNUTD and KNTU - 4 powerful laptops, 2 multimedia projectors and licensed CAD/LAY.Assyst and Style3D Studio software. Within the framework of the InnovaTex project, two international meetings have already been held - in Romania and Moldova regarding the stages of project implementation.
The event coordinators concluded that international cooperation and participation in Erasmus+ projects are opportunities for real innovations in education and production!
