Student life at the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design proves that future scientists and specialists in the chemical and biopharmaceutical industry are not just "people in lab coats." The rich extracurricular life at the faculty has become a powerful addition to the educational process, contributing to the comprehensive development of young people. Students at the faculty actively combine in-depth study of complex chemical and biopharmaceutical disciplines with a wide range of activities that help them develop leadership qualities, teamwork skills, and creative thinking —skills that are so important for a successful career.
From September 17 to 19, 2025, first- and second-year students of the educational-professional program European, under the guidance of scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy –Olena Ishchenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Olena Roik, PhD of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor and Vadym Lisovyi, PhD – visited the 23rd International Beauty Industry Exhibition "InterCHARM-Ukraine 2025". During the event, students learned about current trends in the perfume and cosmetics industry and the latest developments from leading Ukrainian manufacturers. They took part in practical master classes on making shower gel and creating original fragrance compositions, organised by UNIKS specialists. For students, participation in the exhibition was a great opportunity not only to expand their knowledge but also to communicate with potential employers, which opens up prospects for further employment. At the same time, for the faculty members, this event was a valuable resource for establishing cooperation and expanding partnerships with companies in the cosmetics industry.
On September 18 2005, on the occasion of Pharmacist Day, fourth-year students of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies of KNUTD, as part of their study of the discipline' Medicinal Plants in Human Health,' under the guidance of Olga Nikitina, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor, visited the M.M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The tour for students was conducted by a PhD in Biology, Nadiya Dzhurenko, Head of the Laboratory of Medical Botany, who presented a collection of medicinal plants and outlined the prospects for their use in the pharmaceutical industry. The students familiarised themselves with the rose garden exhibition, the variety of asters, and the new hibiscus collection. This practice-oriented learning format is an important element of professional training, as it combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience and contributes to the development of professional competencies.

On September 18, 2025, a coordination meeting and training session was held between the faculty leadership – Dean of the Faculty Tatiana Derkach, Doctor habil in Education, Professor, and Deputy Dean for Educational Work Oksana Butenko, PhD – and students regarding participation in academic mobility programmes. This event was aimed at informing and preparing higher education seekers about opportunities for international study, internships, or research. Interested students were provided with information on the requirements for candidates to participate in academic mobility, the selection procedure, and the preparation of the necessary documents, in particular a motivation letter and a CV. The specifics of living and studying abroad were discussed.

On September 24, 2025, students of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD, led by Olga Nikitina, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor, visited Kyivmedpreparat JSC. The students familiarised themselves with the organisational structure and product portfolio of Arterium Corporation, received detailed information about the current areas of cooperation between the company and higher education institutions, and learned about research projects, practical training, and internship programmes that allow students to combine their studies with practical training for work in production. A special part of the visit was an interactive quiz, which was won by second-year student Viktoria Polishchuk, who received the main prize. The other students also received lovely gifts as a souvenir of the excursion.

On September 25, 2025, an educational excursion was held for first-year students majoring in G1 Chemical Technology and Engineering and G21 Biotechnology and Bioengineering to the Fund Storage Department of the Scientific and Technical Library of KNUTD. The event was organised by curators Olena Okhmat, Olena Kryukova, and Deputy Dean Oksana Butenko, to familiarise participants in the educational process with the library's internal workings and its unique collections. During the visit, students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of book storage, where the university's true intellectual treasure is kept.
Head of Department Liudmyla Krekhova introduced the attendees to rare editions and copies of particular historical and scientific value, including early editions on light industry and related fields (18th-20th centuries). The students not only saw thousands of books, but also understood the enormous amount of work that goes into making this knowledge available to visitors. Visiting such places inspires respect for books and librarianship. Such events are an essential part of the educational process, as they enhance students' library and bibliographic culture and demonstrate the value of the intellectual heritage preserved by the KNUTD library, which is one of the largest specialised libraries among higher education institutions in Ukraine.

The combination of education, science, and leisure contributes to the training of not only highly qualified specialists but also well-rounded, socially active individuals who are ready to take responsibility and change the world for the better.
The years spent at the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies of KNUTD are not only a foundation of professional knowledge but also a time of vivid impressions and personal growth!
