On 27 October 2025, the student and academic community of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design joined the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity on the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. At the university, the event was traditionally held at the initiative of Anna Spaska, Head of the Primary Student Trade Union Organization, together with the faculty members of the Department of Philology and Translation.

Participants gathered in the Academic Council Meeting Hall and attentively listened to the text of the dictation titled “We Must Live!”, written by Yevheniia Kuznetsova, Ukrainian writer, translator, and scholar, and read aloud by Nataliia Sumska, People’s Artist of Ukraine, leading actress, and TV host.

The Radio Dictation was launched by the Ukrainian Radio team back in 2000, and for over a quarter of a century this flash mob has united Ukrainians across the globe through their love for their native language:

“We must live!… Truly! Now!… The only real things turned out to be those we cannot grasp with our hands: memories, laughter, and love…”

Our students and lecturers took a group photo to commemorate the event and discussed the challenges of the emotionally charged, precise, and life-affirming text.

Ukraine – united, cohesive, genuine – lives brightly “for the sake of those who will speak our language after us.”
