METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR “PERSONALIZATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING FOR COMPUTER SPECIALTIES’ STUDENTS: CONCEPTS, APPROACHES, TECHNOLOGIES”

On October 30, 2025, the Department of Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a methodological seminar – “Personalization of Foreign Language Learning for Computer Specialties’ Students: Concepts, Approaches, Technologies”.

The seminar was conducted by Kseniia Kugai, a third-year PhD student at the Institute of Pedagogy of NAES of Ukraine. The event was organized as part of her teaching (practical) internship.

During the presentation, the speaker outlined the key theoretical and methodological foundations of personalized foreign language learning for computer specialties’ students, focusing on the concepts and approaches that consider learners’ individual cognitive styles, professional needs, and motivational factors. Particular attention was given to the implementation of the competence-based, activity-based, learner-centered, communicative, individual, axiological, and participatory-interactive approaches.

The discussion focused on modern technologies for learning personalization, adaptive systems, digital platforms, gamification elements, and project-based learning, which enhance students’ motivation and promote the development of foreign language communicative competence.

Throughout the seminar, participants exchanged views on the integration of innovative teaching methods into the educational process and explored opportunities to adapt personalized strategies to the specific training needs of future computer science professionals.

The event contributed to the improvement of the department’s teaching staff’s methodological competence, the development of their research and practical reflection, and the formation of a modern vision for enhancing the effectiveness of foreign language training for computer specialties’ students.
