RESULTS OF THE III INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF RESEARCH PAPERS FOF HIGHER EDUCATION SEEKER

On October 24, 2025, the Final Scientific and Practical Conference of the IІI International Competition of Research Papers for Higher Education Seekers (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) was held on the basis of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design in three directions: “Art and Design”, “Fashion Industry” and “Public and Corporate Management”.

Annually, the Competition brings together young researchers and students from different countries around the world. This year, foreign higher education seekers from the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia, Latvia, Moldova, and Georgia participated in the Competition. Ukraine was represented by students from leading universities of Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Ternopil, Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Lutsk, Cherkasy, Dnipro, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, and many other cities. 

According to the Regulation, the Competition was held in two stages: at the first stage, two reviewers who were members of the Competition Committee studied the research papers; at the second stage, the Final Scientific and Practical Conference (hereinafter referred to as the Final Conference) was held, where the reports of the higher education seekers for the prizes were heard.

More than 90 research papers from 26 higher education institutions of Ukraine and the world (Great Britain, Moldova, Georgia, Latvia, etc.) were submitted to the IІI International Competition of Research Papers for Higher Education Seekers by direction of Art and Design. The papers were reviewed by qualified specialists, doctors of art history, doctors of science, professors from around the world (Romania, Moldova, Great Britain, Latvia) and Ukraine (representatives of KNUTD and other Ukrainian higher education institutions).

 

 

The moderators of the “Art and Design” direction of the Competition were Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design and Secretary of the Competition Liudmyla Melnyk, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of KNUTD. The Final Conference by the direction of “Art and Design” featured reports of the authors of 32 research papers, which presented the results of students’ research in various areas of graphic design, environmental design, fashion design, etc.

Many works by young researchers have been devoted to pressing issues of inclusivity, environmental design renovation, and the use of artificial intelligence in various areas of design. The moderators, Natalia Ostapenko, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, and Dariia Kaptiurova, Assistant Professor of the Department of Fashion Technology, warmly welcomed the distinguished participants of the Final Scientific and Practical Conference of the III International Competition of Research Papers for Higher Education Seekers in Fashion Industry. The conference became an important professional platform for discussing current trends and research in the fashion industry, held as part of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of KNUTD. During the opening, the moderators emphasised that the International Competition of Research Papers for Higher Education Seekers is a powerful stimulus for the innovative development of young scientists, the expansion of international relations and the integration of Ukraine into the global educational and scientific space.

This year, the competition brought together creative young people from Ukraine, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova, Latvia, and other countries, who presented the results of their research in the directions of fashion industry development, materials science (in particular, knitted fabrics, textiles, leather), information technology and innovation in the textile and fashion industries, adaptive clothing, and current issues of product quality in the fashion industry.

Based on the results of the first stage of the competition, the authors of the 14 best student works out of 35 submitted were invited to participate in the Final Scientific and Practical Conference. After the presentations at the conference, three works (five students) were awarded first-degree diplomas, four works (five students) were awarded second-degree diplomas, and seven works (ten students) were awarded third-degree diplomas.

During the closing ceremony of the Fashion Industry session of the Final Scientific and Practical Conference of the III International Competition of Research Papers for Higher Education Seekers, sincere words of gratitude were expressed to the participants. Svitlana Kuleshova and Lіudmyla Nazarchuk addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, thanking the contestants, their scientific supervisors and the organisers of the event for their dedication, creative approach and perseverance in the search for new ideas. The speakers emphasised that such scientific events are extremely important, as they help to identify and support gifted young people, create conditions for their creative growth, and strengthen students' research activities.

 

The event confirmed the high level of training of young scientists and demonstrated that fashion education in Ukraine has strong scientific potential and is confidently keeping pace with global trends.

120 scientific papers from 42 higher education institutions of Ukraine and world (Czech Republic, Poland) were submitted to the III International Competition of Scientific Papers for Higher Education Applicants in the field of "Public and Corporate Management". The papers were reviewed by qualified specialists, doctors of economic sciences, professors from different countries of the world (Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Chile, Kenya, Georgia, Azerbaijan) and Ukraine (representatives of KNUTD and other higher education institutions of Ukraine).

 

 

 

 

 

The final conference on the results of the Competition in the direction of "Public and Corporate Management" was held in two sections. The moderators of the sections were Alla Kasych, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Management, and Olena Vartanova, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Professor of the Department of Management, KNUTD. Reports were heard from the authors of 36 research papers, which presented the results of scientific research by students in two areas: corporate management and public administration in the context of globalization and digitalization.

The works of the applicants were devoted to such topical problems as ensuring the post-war recovery of Ukraine, maximizing value, minimizing waste, understanding the lean system and its application in modern business, circular economy, assessing gender sensitivity in the corporate culture of enterprises, social welfare, personnel management at enterprises and in banking institutions in wartime conditions, labor market analytics, modern leadership, developing creativity, corporate culture, business planning of entrepreneurial activity, implementing digital technologies in the management strategy of organizations, etc.

Meaningful reports, active discussion and professional answers to questions contributed to increasing the motivation of the participants for further scientific research.

At the awarding ceremony, on behalf of the Acting Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Dr. Oleksandra Olshanska, Professor, the participants of the Competition were congratulated by Dr. Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko, Professor, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, and Dr. Volodymyr Statsenko, Professor, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation.

Professor Statsenko noted that despite the challenges our country is currently facing, our university is doing everything possible to support the scientific activity and creative pursuit of young researchers. The Vice-Rector also expressed his gratitude to the academic supervisors of the students and wished the participants to “… never stop at what has been achieved.”

The moderator of the award ceremony at the conference was Dr. Kalyna Pashkevych, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Design at KNUTD, who warmly congratulated all participants of the Competition and their academic supervisors. She also highlighted the broad scientific geography of the submitted research papers, the diversity of topics, and the high level of the presenters’ performances. On behalf of the Competition’s Organizing Committee, she expressed gratitude to the students and their academic supervisors for their participation, inspiring work, scientific curiosity, and creative approach.

At the final conference, Kateryna Crichlow, designer, guest lecturer at Birmingham City University, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), congratulated the participants of the Conference and thanked the organizers of the Competition for providing young researchers with the opportunity to showcase their creative ideas and share their scientific experience. She also wished scholars from different countries further fruitful collaboration and many joint research projects.

Head of the Department of Textile and Clothing Design at Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, Dr. Oksana Lahoda, Professor, emphasized in her welcome speech the importance of student research in supporting young people during these difficult times of war for our country. She wished everyone success and inspiration, noting the high quality of the students’ research papers and their presentations in English.

Head of the Department of Economics at Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, Dr. Olga Maslak, Professor, sincerely thanked all academic supervisors and contestants for the “intellectual celebration.” She also noted the excellent hard and soft skills demonstrated by the Competition participants, as well as the scientific diversity of their intellectual ideas.

Professor of the Department of Management of Innovation and Investment Activities at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Dr. Oksana Zhylinska, emphasized the broad “intellectual map of exploration” demonstrated by this year’s contestants. She noted that “… science lives and continues to thrive in the young ideas of our students…”, and expressed her gratitude to the organizers of the Competition and KNUTD, as well as to the academic supervisors and students.

Professor of the Department of Light Industry Technologies at Lutsk National Technical University, Dr. Mykola Riabchykov, emphasized that the Competition brought together talented young people who share a passion for creative technologies and sustainable development. He also noted that the ideas of young researchers represent the future of fashion industry, textiles, and design.

After sincere congratulations from the esteemed academic colleagues, Kalyna Pashkevych invited the deputy chairpersons of the Competition Commissions in the directions “Art and Design”, “Fashion Industry” and “Public and Corporate Management” to speak. They announced the winners of the Competition and awarded them with diplomas of the first, second and third degrees. The organizational support of the Competition was provided by Olena Yershova, PhD, Head of the Information Support and Technology Transfer Department of KNUTD.

It was a pleasure to hear at the final conference the words of the student participants, who shared their impressions of the event and expressed their gratitude to their academic supervisors and the organizers of the Competition.
