"FROM THE PHILHARMONIC TO THE PARADE GROUND: THE MUSIC OF V. KIREIKO—A COMMON LANGUAGE OF UNITY AND THE VOICE OF GENERATIONS"

On October 27, 2025, first-year students majoring in Cultural Studies and Museology (group BK 1-25) took part in a creative event—the presentation of the project "From the Philharmonic to the Parade Ground: V. Kireiko's music as a common language of unity and the voice of generations." The event was moderated by Vladislav Berkovsky, associate professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture.

The project is dedicated to the work of the famous Ukrainian composer Vitaly Kireiko (1926-2016), who left behind a large and unique creative legacy (about 300 musical works) covering virtually all musical genres (except operetta). In particular, these include 5 operas (The Forest Song, Early on Sunday Morning She Dug Up Her Potions, Marko in Hell, Vernissage at the Fair, Boyarynya);  four ballets (Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, The Witch, Orgy, The Sun Stone) and ten symphonies, as well as dozens of chamber works, concertos for violin and cello, and numerous

piano compositions. The presentation was attended by Yevhen Voronko, conductor of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard of Ukraine, and People's Artists of Ukraine Oksana Nesterenko and Iryna Dats. For KNUTD students, this event was a great opportunity not only to learn about the work of one of the representatives of Ukrainian classical music, but also to deepen their knowledge of the history of Ukrainian music and methods of its digitization.
