STUDENTS AND LECTURERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR AND FURNITURE DESIGN VISITED THE “DESIGN LIVING TENDENCY” EXHIBITION

From October 22 to 24, 2025, students of the “Environmental Design” educational program (Bachelor’s level) together with lecturers from the Department of Interior and Furniture Design PhD, Associate Professor Oleksandra Shmelova-Nesterenko; PhD, Associate Professor Ruslan Ahliullin; Associate Professor Olena Vyshnevska; and Senior Lecturer Natalia Ryshkevych, attended the largest commercial interior design exhibition in Ukraine, “Design Living Tendency”, traditionally held at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv.

 

The visit to the exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for future designers to familiarize themselves with current trends in furniture and interior design, to explore a wide assortment of furniture products, as well as contemporary materials and technologies used in interior design, presented by both domestic and international manufacturers.

 

During the visit, students were introduced to the latest innovations and design approaches in shaping modern living spaces. Particular attention was paid to current stylistic trends in interior design.

 

The exhibition also served as a platform for establishing professional connections and engaging in live communication with manufacturers, designers, and business representatives.

 

 

Students additionally attended the NAMYSTO lecture program, which was held as part of the exhibition. Notably, they had the opportunity to hear a thought-provoking lecture by Svitlana Ostapyk, designer and assistant at the Department of Interior and Furniture Design at KNUTD, on the important topic “How to Say ‘No’ to a Client – and Survive: Managing Expectations, Emotions, and Budgets”.

 

The knowledge and impressions gained during the event will undoubtedly prove useful to students in their academic journey, including the development of educational projects and qualification theses. Moreover, it will serve as inspiration for their future creative explorations in the field of environmental and furniture design.
