IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONTENT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL-PEDAGOGICAL TRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS

In the context of contemporary changes related to the integration of Ukrainian higher pedagogical education into the European educational space, the issue of improving the quality of professional, in particular psychological and pedagogical, training of future teachers at all educational levels is becoming increasingly relevant.

On 29 October 2025, during the XVII International Exhibition “Innovation in Modern Education”, a scientific and practical seminar “Improving the Effectiveness of Teaching Psychological and Pedagogical Disciplines: Challenges and Solutions” was held, initiated by the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. The event was an important step in the implementation of research projects aimed at improving the content of psychological and pedagogical training for future teachers.

The seminar was moderated by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Larysa Petrenko and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Myroslava Vovk.

More than 90 scientists and educators from leading Ukrainian universities participated in the seminar. Among them was Alla Semenova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, who presented a report on “Methodological aspects of taking into account the nonlinear nature of the processes of studying psychological and pedagogical disciplines in higher education institutions as a value-oriented-oriented sensory experience”.

In her report, Professor Alla Semenova emphasised the importance of rethinking psychological and pedagogical training from the perspective of a personal value-based approach that combines elements of emotional experience, creativity and pedagogical reflection. This approach responds to contemporary challenges in education, particularly digitalisation, blended learning and the need to develop humanistic-oriented teachers.

The seminar participants discussed topical issues of modernising the teaching of psychological and pedagogical disciplines, exchanged experiences and identified common areas for further cooperation.

Based on the results of the work, it was recommended to update the content of psychological and pedagogical training for future teachers by:

  • introducing modern content modules and topics in psychopedagogy, education personology, and historical and pedagogical heritage;
  • strengthening the nation-building context of educational programmes;
  • raising awareness of the psychological well-being and mental health of teachers and students;
  • creating digital teaching and methodological support for the teaching of psychological and pedagogical disciplines.

The event became an important platform for scientific dialogue, professional exchange and determining the paths for further development of psychological and pedagogical education in Ukraine.
