On 18 November 2025 at 10 GMT, a new edition of the QS Sustainability Rankings was published on topuniversities.com.

The QS Sustainability Rankings 2025 include 2,001 universities from around the world.

This year, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design participated in the ranking for the second time, securing 499th place among 620 European universities and 10th place among the 18 Ukrainian higher education institutions included in the 2025 ranking.

The QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026 highlight universities worldwide that are leading in social and environmental sustainability, assessing indicators that measure a university’s ability to address major global environmental, social, and governance challenges.

The sustainability ranking, which encompasses environmental and social sustainability indicators, is compiled by the London-based analytics company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). This organization is one of the most authoritative university ranking providers in the world, serving as a benchmark for academic quality, impact, and the level of sustainability of educational institutions.

The ranking encompasses three categories: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance.

The Environmental Impact category celebrates universities working to improve the planet through environmental research, climate mitigation strategies, and alumni contributions to sustainability. It consists of three indicators: environmental sustainability, environmental education, and environmental research.

The Social Impact category showcases the university`s commitment to societal transformation by promoting equality, sharing knowledge, delivering excellent student experiences, and achieving strong graduate outcomes.

The Governance category illustrates the university`s commitment to good governance. Ethical leadership, transparent decision-making, fair hiring practices, and inclusive governance that empowers students contributed to the fact that KNUTD ranked 607th among world HEI.
