On November 11, 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted an acting performance entitled “Musicals: identical or better,” organized by third-year students (group BAMP1-23) majoring in 026 Performing Arts.

The event was held as part of the work of the workshop of Professor L.M. Somov of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture and took place in the “Kovcheg” art space (room 9-102).

The creative show was the result of the educational process and practical classes in acting, vocals, and choreography. Students demonstrated stage sketches based on materials from famous world and Ukrainian musicals, as well as original choreographic and vocal compositions.

The concept of “identical or better” consisted in embodying classic, familiar images and scenes from musicals with the addition of their own interpretation, revealing the individuality and professional potential of each student. The performances included complex choreographic productions requiring high physical training; solo and ensemble vocal numbers; dramatic scenes and plastic etudes in the style of cabaret and contemporary choreography.

The show attracted a large audience of university teachers, students, and representatives of the cultural community. The audience noted the high level of training of the performers, the complexity of the selected material, and the quality of its stage implementation. The event once again confirmed the practical focus of the educational program of specialty 026 Performing Arts and Professionalism of Management in the training of future specialists in the theater industry.

The university continues to support similar cultural initiatives that contribute to the development of performing arts culture and ensure the practical realization of the talents of KNUTD students.
