JOINT MEETING OF SUSWEARTEX PROJECT PARTICIPANTS

The transnational meeting of the project coordinators "SusWearTex: Baltic Neighbourhood Cooperation in Sustainable Workwear Initiatives - Driving Recycled Fiber Excellence in Workwear Textiles" was held in Tallinn, Estonia, from November 6 to 7, 2025.

In accordance with the international scientific cooperation plan, the meeting was held at the Institute of Engineering and Circular Economy at the University of Applied Sciences, state professional higher education institution, offering competitive professional higher education and applied research in the fields of technology, production, civil engineering, logistics, economics, and welfare. TTK UAS is the largest university of applied sciences in Estonia.

Project coordinators from four universities participated in the meeting: Researcher of Textiles Faculty, Engineering and Business (including The Swedish School of Textiles) Mohammad Neaz Morshed and Docent, Associate Professor of Textiles Faculty, Engineering and Business (including The Swedish School of Textiles) Vijay Kumar represented the University of Borås, Sweden; Professor Inga Dabolina - the Riga Technical University, Latvia; Docent, Associate Professor of Art and Fashion Design Department Ludmila Melnik - the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Ukraine. The meeting was moderated by Professor Ada Traumann of the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences, Estonia. During the meeting, an assessment of the completed project activities, an analysis of the overall project scenario, and planning of future events and seminars were conducted.

The visit also included an opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Institute of Engineering and Circular Economy of the UAS: the textile materials and sewing equipment research laboratory.

 

 

The project participants also visited the A la Carte Uniforms company, which is part of a group of companies that has been developing, producing, and logistically sourcing workwear since 1986, and discussed the prospects, challenges, and successes of using recycled materials in the production of workwear.

 

We are sincerely grateful to our Estonian partners for organizing the meeting, the scientific dialogue, and the opportunity to become familiar with modern clothing manufacturing equipment and the development trends in textile science.
