On November 19, 2025, representatives of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design joined a large-scale educational and scientific event—the fourteenth webinar in the series “The Flower of Ukrainian Pedagogy: Present and Past.”
The topic of the webinar, organized by the Department of Content and Technologies of Pedagogical Education of the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, was extremely relevant for future actors and artists: “The creativity of Ivan Mykolaychuk in the challenges of our time.”

The participation of teachers from the Department of Performing Arts and Culture and students in this event took place on the basis of the current Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of KNUTD and the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. This synergy allows for the integration of leading scientific research into the field of pedagogy and art, enriching the educational process and professional development.

The webinar was presented by Svitlana Kyryliuk, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literature at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.
Ms. Svitlana presented a profound, emotional, and scientifically grounded lecture devoted to the life and work of Ivan Mykolaychuk.
Key points of the lecture that are particularly important for KNUTD higher education applicants:
- the ethnocultural environment of his native Chortoria influenced Mykolaichuk's artistic style, which combines authenticity, visual metaphor, and psychological depth an invaluable lesson for future actors and directors.
- the role of music and musical rhythm in Mykolaichuk's filmography (for example, in the film Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors) creates a unique atmosphere of cinematic poetry.
- directorial works – Babylon XX and Such a Late, Such a Warm Autumn are philosophical reflections on Ukrainian people and their inner freedom;
- today, Mykolaichuk's work is a cultural benchmark that opposes colonial attempts to destroy memory and teaches courage, inner honor, and dignity.
The event brought together more than 160 participants, including teachers and students from more than ten higher education institutions in Ukraine, confirming the high level of interest in Ivan Mykolaychuk. The moderator was Nataliia Filipchuk, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Leading Researcher at the Department of Content and Technologies of Pedagogical Education at the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
Participation in such events makes it possible to integrate the most relevant scientific and cultural knowledge directly into the educational process, forming a conscious and deeply national generation of artists.
