PROFESSIONAL-PRACTICE COURSE “PROFESSION OF MALE FASHION STYLIST” FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF DESIGN

In October 2025, students of the Faculty of Design had the opportunity to take a free training course “Profession of Male Fashion Stylist” by Viacheslav Moskal, a fashion stylist with many years of experience in the fashion industry.

Higher education students of bachelor's and master's degree programs in "Fashion Design" listened to four two-hour lectures dedicated to men's fashion and style, the language of style (color, form, textures and patterns), typology of figures and the construction of a men's wardrobe, as well as the practice of working with a client as a stylist. In addition, a bonus lecture was held on the role of a stylist in the filming of films, videos, advertising, fashion illustrations, etc.

Active participants in the project were: Maryna Nevmerzhytska (group Bdo 3-23), Moisei Alina (group Bdo3-23), Muraveinikova Kateryna (group Bdo1-25), Chepurko Polina (group Bdo1-25), Kachmar Sofiia (group Bdo1-25), Sulyma Sofiia (group Bdo1-25), Kravchenko Alena (MgD-24), Chaikovska Sofiia (MgD-25) and other students.

Course participants received additional materials: links to educational content in the fashion field, ready-made message templates for working with clients, a list of questions for consultation, a description of services, and a detailed description of the process of their implementation.

The final project of the course was the development of an online capsule for the client - a full-fledged stylist service in the form of a document with ready-made looks and links to items from online stores. The most active course participants who completed the project on time will receive an invitation to one of the Ukrainian Fashion Week shows.

Participants wrote positive reviews after the course.

Viacheslav Moskal is a postgraduate student at the Faculty of Design of the KNUTD, majoring in 022 Design (scientific supervisor – Liudmyla Melnyk, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor). The course was organized within the framework of scientific and pedagogical practice and on the personal initiative of the practicing specialist.

We thank Viacheslav Moskal for an interesting and useful course for students, which allowed them to gain practical knowledge that students can use in their future work as a stylist or in styling photo shoots, when developing collections and demonstrating them at competitions, for example, within the framework of the International Competition of Young Designers “Pecherski Kashtany”.
