On 23 December 2025, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was visited by a delegation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Ukraine, headed by His Excellency Mr. Ma Shengkun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Ukraine.

This visit became an important demonstration of the support for Ukrainian higher education by the diplomatic mission of the People’s Republic of China and a confirmation of the many years of friendly relations between our countries.

The distinguished guests were welcomed by Acting Rector of the University, Oleksandra Olshanska. She emphasized that Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design highly values the trust of Chinese partners and students, for whom the University has become an Alma Mater. She also highlighted that cooperation with China is one of the priority directions of the University’s international strategy, aimed at the exchange of knowledge, innovations, and cultural heritage.

His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Ma Shengkun highly appreciated the University’s potential and assured the readiness of the Embassy to promote the strengthening of friendly ties between the educational institutions of the two countries.

During the meeting, First Vice-Rector of KNUTD, Mykhailo Kulyniak, introduced the delegation to the main areas of development of joint educational and research activities. The parties discussed prospects for expanding and improving cooperation mechanisms between the University and educational institutions of the People’s Republic of China, in particular emphasizing the importance of direct dialogue between partner universities.

After the official part of the meeting, the distinguished delegation was invited to visit the University’s training and research laboratories. The guests had an opportunity to communicate with lecturers, students, and postgraduate researchers from various departments and faculties.

The visit of His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Ma Shengkun demonstrated a shared vision of the importance of education as a unifying instrument that brings nations together and opens new opportunities for the academic communities of both countries.
