Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design works systematically to ensure that graduates receive not only a theoretical foundation, but also official confirmation of their practical skills. The university provides applicants with the opportunity to obtain a professional qualification certificate, which is a significant bonus to their diploma. Currently, KNUTD is actively developing and improving its own certification procedure. Until its final implementation, we are working closely with specialised Qualification Centres, acting as the main venue for the practical stage of exams based on our modern laboratories.

A striking example of the implementation of this strategy was the event that took place on 2 April 2025. The Department of Industrial Pharmacy conducted a comprehensive assessment for the award of the qualification ‘Industrial Pharmacist’. The event was held with the participation of the Qualification Centre for Pharmacy in accordance with the requirements of the national professional standard.

The assessment was conducted in the form of knowledge testing and performance of practical tasks aimed at evaluating skills and competencies in laboratory conditions. This approach ensured a comprehensive evaluation of both the theoretical background and the practical readiness of candidates for professional activity in the field of industrial pharmacy.

The test assignments focused on assessing knowledge of regulatory and legal frameworks governing pharmaceutical activities, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, quality control systems, and professional responsibility. The practical component involved the completion of laboratory-based tasks, which made it possible to assess the level of formation of professional skills and abilities required for production, analytical, and quality-control functions.

As a result of the assessment, seven candidates were awarded the professional qualification “Industrial Pharmacist.” Information on the awarded qualification was entered into the Register of Qualifications of the National Qualifications Agency, ensuring its official recognition and transparency for employers.

The candidates received certificates in Ukrainian and English, containing a detailed description of the labor functions and professional tasks they are qualified to perform in accordance with the professional standard. Such certification confirms the level of professional competence of the graduates and enhances their competitiveness and professional mobility in both the national and international labor markets.

Having this certificate really boosts how competitive graduates are. For top pharmaceutical companies, it's a guarantee that young professionals don't need a lot of retraining and are already familiar with international quality standards. This gives graduates a quick start to their careers and makes them really mobile in the job market.

At the moment, the Department of Industrial Pharmacy is actively preparing for the next exam for future graduates of the Industrial Pharmacy educational programme. This is another step by the university in training highly qualified personnel capable of strengthening the pharmaceutical sector of Ukraine immediately after graduation.

Holding the assessment at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD demonstrates the university’s active role in implementing the national qualifications framework, advancing practice-oriented education, and training highly qualified specialists for the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine.
