On 29 October 2025, as part of the XVII International Exhibition ‘Innovation in Modern Education’, a scientific and practical seminar entitled ‘Improving the effectiveness of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines: challenges and solutions’ was held as part of a busy programme of conferences and events aimed at discussing current educational innovations and problems in the context of martial law.
The purpose of the seminar was to discuss ways to improve the quality of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines in the context of modern challenges. In the context of the transformations caused by the integration of Ukrainian higher pedagogical education into the European educational space, the issue of improving the quality of professional, in particular psychological and pedagogical, training of future teachers at all levels of higher education is becoming particularly relevant. The updating of the content of such training is determined by the implementation of the principles of the New Ukrainian School concept, the requirements of state standards for basic secondary and specialised education, the implementation of a competence-based approach in educational programmes, the consideration of competences provided for by professional standards for teachers and lecturers, as well as the processes of digitalisation of education and the spread of distance and blended learning formats.
The seminar was attended by representatives of leading scientific and educational institutions of Ukraine, in particular the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions from different regions of the country, and postgraduate pedagogical education institutions. Alla Semenova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design at KNUTD, also gave a presentation on ‘Methodological aspects of taking into account nonlinear processes in the study of psychological and pedagogical disciplines in higher education institutions as a value-sensory experience.’ The participants discussed current issues and outlined specific areas for further joint action.
On the initiative of the President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Vasyl Kremen, an outstanding Ukrainian scientist in the field of social philosophy, philosophy of education, political science, and pedagogy, a certificate was presented to the speaker today, 1 December.
The document was solemnly handed over by Nelya Nichkalo, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Vocational Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor; and Larisa Lukyanova, member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. The event took place at the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, which is quite symbolic and adds importance to the event.
For Alla Vasylivna, this is not only formal recognition of her participation in the seminar, but also an important contribution to the development of professional education, particularly in the field of improving the effectiveness of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines.



The Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design have signed a cooperation agreement. During the meeting, Alla Vasylivna Semenova presented the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine with a chronicle of KNUTD, emphasising that the university consistently preserves and promotes Ukrainian traditions, while dynamically developing and affirming European values.
The meeting took place in a constructive working atmosphere and contributed to the coordination of common goals and prospects for further cooperation.
