In December 2025, the departments of the Faculty of Design of the KNUTD held defenses of master's theses in the specialty 022 Design. Future masters of design presented the results of their research and development in the field of graphic, multimedia design, environmental and fashion design.
Master's degree students of the Department of Multimedia Design of the educational program "Design (on types)" presented their qualification works to the examination committee. It is worth noting that the research was comprehensive and covered current areas of multimedia design, in particular, web design, animation, game design, development of interactive digital products, etc. Within the framework of the qualification projects, the development of animation and game projects, mobile applications, websites, interactive electronic publications, etc. was presented.
The head of the examination commission, Sviatoslav Berdynskykh, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Design of the University of Economics and Law “KROK”, together with the members of the examination commission, ensured a professional and objective assessment of the submitted qualification works. The projects submitted by the applicants, carried out under the scientific supervision of Olena Vasylieva, Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Ruslana Khynevych, Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Olena Slitiuk, Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Alina Shaura, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, were tested at international professional and creative competitions, and the results of the research were presented at scientific and practical conferences and published in professional scientific publications. In addition, the members of the examination commission highly appreciated the level of training of masters in design, noting that most graduates are already successfully implementing the acquired knowledge and practical skills in their professional activities in the field of multimedia design.
Defense of Masters of the Department of Multimedia Design
Master's degree students of the Department of Graphic Design, educational program "Design (by types)", presented their developments in packaging design, posters on various topics, corporate identity of various institutions, book illustration, etc. The head of the examination committee Olena Yaremchuk, candidate of art history, associate professor, associate professor of the Department of Design of the University of Economics and Law "KROK" and members of the EC provided professional and objective evaluation of qualification works.
Master's degree defenses of the Department of Graphic Design
Masters of the Department of Graphic Design presented not only the results of their scientific research, but also presented samples of printed products, posters, packaging, etc. Supervisors of qualification works Rada Mykhailova, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Olga Yezhova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Liliia Zhuravel-Zmieieva, Doctor of Philosophy, Oleksandr Vasyliev, Doctor of Philosophy and others advised students, encouraged them to participate in conferences of various levels, scientific and creative competitions, and to joint publications in professional journals.
The qualification design projects of the masters of the educational program "Fashion Design" were distinguished by the solution of a wide range of issues of modern fashion. Higher education graduates of the Department of Art and Fashion Design presented the development of everyday, spectacular, sportswear, focused on consumer needs, current fashion trends and sustainable development of the Ukrainian fashion industry. All presented developments were also implemented and received recognition at many international conferences and competitions of clothing designers "Pechersi Kashtany", "Suzirya "Kashtan", etc.
Defense of Masters of the Department of Art and Fashion Design
The supervisors of the qualification works Nataliia Chuprina, Doctor of Study of Art, Professor, Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Tetyana Krotova, Doctor of Study of Art, Professor, Olena Gerasymenko, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Galyna Kokorina, PhD in Technological Sciences, Iryna Chubotina, Doctor of Philosophy noted the interest of the applicants, the design and scientific novelty of the topics of the protected qualification works. The Head of the Examination Commission Yulia Danylko - brand manager of the fashion brand FlowTouch, Master of Fashion Design, graduate of the Department of Art and Costume Design noted the high level of project developments, inviting Master Maria Dmytrenko for an internship.
The qualification works of graduates of the educational program "Environmental Design" investigated the issue of renovation of various public facilities - educational institutions, social protection and rehabilitation, transport infrastructure, etc. The presented works were tested at international competitions and exhibitions, the results of the research were presented at scientific and practical conferences and published in scientific publications.
Defense of Master's Thesis of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design
The supervisors of the qualification works, Danylo Kosenko, PhD, Associate Professor, Tetiana Bulhakova, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Oleksandra Shmelova-Nesterenko, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, and Ruslan Ahliullin, Doctor of Philosophy, noted the applicants' interest in researching socially significant topics, identifying and implementing modern trends in environmental design. The head of the examination committee, Glib Ushakov, Candidate of Architecture, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Fundamentals of Architecture and Architectural Design of the Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, highly appreciated the scientific and creative level of the master's works, the general level of training of graduates of the educational program "Environmental Design".
A significant part of the master's graduates of the departments of the Faculty of Design are already working in their specialty, some have more than 5 years of work experience: Mykhailo Hrygoriev - head of the design team and product designer of the company "NDA company", Daryna Yakymenko - designer of the merchandising department of the company in the field of furniture fittings "VIYAR", Anton Bobrovsky - stylist, hairdresser, Andriy Cherevko - owner of the jewelry company "CHEGO", Aliona Kravchenko - clothing designer of the sewing enterprise "Dana-Moda", Ivan Ivanyk - titled athlete in dance sports (developed a collection of sportswear for performances at competitions), Iryna Abramova and Nataliia Babaryka - heads of their own design bureaus for interior design and renovation, Oksana Dmytrenko - furniture designer, etc. It is nice that practicing specialists chose KNUTD to improve their skills and knowledge!
