On November 19, 2025, students of the Department of Interior Design and Furniture listened to an online lecture by Lyndon Neri, architect and designer. The lecture of the visiting professor was held as part of the series of lectures «Disrupting Patterns Talk» with the assistance of partners of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD – the Italian Academy Domus (Milan). The event was held in English in a mixed format.

Lyndon Neri is an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects and co-founder of the research bureau Neri&Hu.

Lyndon Neri co-founded Neri&Hu in 2006 with Rossana Hu, creating an interdisciplinary practice in Shanghai that combines architecture, interior design, products, and graphic design. His work combines cultural awareness with experimentation with materials, reimagining contemporary design through human-centered and critical approaches. Professor Neri is also actively involved in architectural education, serving as a guest lecturer and critic at the most famous institutions in the world.

During the lecture, Lyndon Neri shared his vision of modern trends in the development of environmental design. Using examples from his own practice, the lecturer demonstrated how design principles for sustainable development are implemented in modern architecture.

Lyndon Neri paid special attention to taking into account the local natural and cultural context in the design of the environment. These approaches, which are being reimagined in modern world architecture, are becoming more and more widespread in China, where most of the work of the Neri&Hu bureau is implemented, as well as in other countries.

The online lecture was attended by teachers and students of bachelor's and master's levels of the departments of the Faculty of Design (educational programs «Environmental Design», «Design (by types)») and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Design (educational and scientific program «Design»). At the end of the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions, to which they received meaningful answers.
